About The Client

Essent is the largest energy company in the Netherlands, supplying gas, electricity and energy services to consumers and businesses. It’s part of the international energy group Innogy that serves more than 2 million customers only in the Netherlands.

The Challenge 

To create a mobile solution that would easily control remotely the Essent smart boilers as well as the smart light bulbs from various manufacturers and related smart home accessories.

Our Solution

Allowing users to connect to the boiler, using Bluetooth Low Energy by developing a custom efficient protocol based on Binary JSON, and have full control over its functionality and monitor the gas costs transparently. In consequent versions, a feature that allows to set remotely the home lighting atmosphere for any time of day and for different occasions, such as getting up, coming home or just relaxing. Over the course of development of the app, support for more digital equipment has been added so it could be the single digital app to monitor and manage all smart home equipment in many households across the Netherlands.

Touchjet Pond smart projectors are capable of turning any flat surface into a touchscreen. The Touchjet Pond can be controlled remotely by any authorized mobile device with the help of an application developed for seamless user experience.

About The Client

Founded in 2013 in Singapore, Touchjet Ltd. manufactures interactive Android projectors and TV set boxes with touch interface and wireless streaming.

The Challenge

We were challenged to develop a custom Android-based operating systems to power Touchjet Pond smart projector (which turn any flat surface, such as a wall, ceiling or floor into a touchscreen) in order to control it remotely and with seamless user experience. Until then, most smart projectores were powered by the standard Android operation system that simply wasn’t intended for such devices where the usage model differs significantly from mobile environment for which the OS was originally conceived.

The Solution

Development of the custom Android based operating system to power Touchjet smart projects corresponding client mobile applications for Android and iOS serve as a remote control, as well as SDK’s and sample apps for third party developers creating a fully functional Touchjet ecosystem.

The app was developed in-house as part of Exaud’s ongoing commitment to encourage the exploration of how the Android Wear platform can be used.

The Challenge

While voice recognition can be great, there are still many situations where speaking to the smartwatch might not be the best option. We’re curious to see how watch users can create new types of interactions that probably wouldn’t be possible without a keyboard such as the one on TypeIt Wear Sms.

The Solution

Development of TypeIt Wear Sms for Android wear devices with an integrated T9 keyboard that features the letters of the alphabet, numbers and most common symbols.

Users can type their own messages, select or customize pre-set responses or send voice replies. The app provides complete chat history, including MMS’s. TypeIt Wear Sms has the highest rate in messaging apps for wearables on Android store, with an average 4.6 star.
