Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Shabrus is a premier digital service agency based in Ahmedabad. Founded in 2018, Shabrus has a proven track record of creating innovative apps, digital products, and web pages.

As the Chief Executive Officer, I am responsible for global delivery, operations, and Innovation. I am passionate about creating a predictable growth engine by complimentary ISV partnerships, differentiating accelerators, creating high performing teams, reward systems, and operating procedures.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
The idea behind starting this business is I want to be my own boss, and  I love to challenge myself. We wanted to make software as per client requirements and was looking at the rise of new technologies as more of an opportunity.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Fixed Price Model - In this model, the project’s scope of work with its associated cost and timeline is defined before the development starts. This is a preferred model for longer periods of engagement. With this model, the client is at peace of mind knowing that the project will remain on the same budget as agreed. This model suits clients who have a perfect vision of their requirements.
Hire Dedicated Model - This is a very classic and simple way of engagement wherein clients pay for the number of hours the app developer works on a project. Clients easily start the project as they don't have to walk in with detailed specifications. This model also allows clients to update new features at any time, and clients know exactly what they are paying for. This drives a lot more trust and communication.
On-Site Development Model - This model is preferred when clients want additional temporary resources for on-site development. This contract type ensures cost-effective engagement and face-to-face interactions with developers. This model helps in achieving the deadline on time as there is continuous communication during the whole process.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
As a women-led software development company based in India, we work with startups and enterprises and deliver the best solution in the industry. At Shabrus  Software, we offer a broad range of app development services based on business requirements.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

  • Healthcare & Fitness
  • Logistics & Distribution
  • Social Networking
  • Real Estate
  • Travel & Hospitality
  • Food & Restaurant
  • On-Demand Solutions
  • Gaming
80% of our clients are repetitive.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
Requirement Gathering - Requirement Gathering is the first and very important part of our mobile app development process.
UI/UX Design - We create eye-catchy designs with the help of the latest tools of designing.
Prototype - After designing, the prototype of your app gets ready, which is then sent for development.
App Development - The Development gets started on preferable platforms with complete transparency.
Quality Assurance - We do not compromise on the quality, so we make sure you get a 100% bug-free app.
Deployment - Your app is ready to appear on the App Store or Play Store on this stage of development.
Support & Maintenance - We give support & answer every query after deployment.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
It requires approximately eighteen weeks (i.e., 4.5 months) to build. This figure is broken down into an estimated ten weeks for backend development and eight weeks for frontend development.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
  • Target Audience
  • Features of a Mobile App Platform
  • Types of apps
  • Operating System
  • Financial Factor
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
It mainly depends upon the location. If you’re targeting an American audience, then we prefer iOS. If the app is targeting the Asian market, then we suggest Android development.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid - which platforms is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Android or iOS - as discussed before, it mainly depends upon the location.
Native or Hybrid - It depends on the client’s requirements, mainly on which platform the client wants his app. If he wants on both the platforms, then the hybrid app, and if the client wants only on a single platform, then native app.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
  1. Research
  2. Human resource
  3. Regular updates/ maintenance
  4. Testing
  5. Mobile platform and devices
  6. Time
  7. Native apps or hybrid apps
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We follow fixed-cost and milestone payment structures to bill our clients.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? -If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, the minimum requirement to take on a project is 50,000 INR.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
  • Freemium - It is one the most favored way of monetizing your app by offering it for free. But the users have to purchase it at least once, to receive all the benefits from the app.
  • Freemium apps that allow multiple purchases - Just like the basic freemium model, a freemium app allows users to put more money while using the application. It is usually seen in mobile games, and this model instigates the users to keep spending money on their free app by offering additional game items. And many of the addicted users keep pumping money into the game to advance their rankings.
  • Advertising On Freemium Apps  - Advertising is the ultimate idea for any app publisher. This model offers the app for free if the users can endure banner ads, or simply they can purchase a premium version without having these annoying ads.
  • Video Advertisements - In this method, instead of just showing banner ads for your app, you can show a short video to the customers, which is more appealing and attractive. The app developers are partnering with ad networks to make and show short video ads on their apps, which will help in generating revenue.
  • Promotional Services - You can simply promote your apps by using promotional services, by which your app can be visible to many consumers and app reviewers. Even getting your app on websites and social media can help it grow more.
  • Paid Apps - It is easy to guess that this option means paying for the app from the very beginning.
