GoodFirms brings at least 100 users to our website each month and about 3% of those make contact. Of those that have contacted us, maybe 1 per month has us quote on a project for them. There have been some solid opportunities that have come through GoodFirms.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.

3 Media Web was founded in 2001 as a web development shop. Over the next 20 years, the company specialized in WordPress as its preferred web development platform and expanded to include design and digital marketing services. At the heart of the business is the value of client relationships and doing what is right for them. This mutual respect and professionalism have been the driving force of our success.

Jess became CEO in April of 2021 after leading the Digital Marketing team for 2 years. During that time, we grew that offering and started exploring the benefits of looking at digital marketing and web design through a single lens, providing our clients with even more benefits and success.

What is the story behind starting this company?

Marc Avila is the Founder of 3 Media Web. During the Dot Com bust of 2001, he found himself out of a job. At that point, he and a friend decided to strike it out on their own and work for themselves. From that point on, he kept learning and growing the business into what you see today.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

Throughout the history of the company, we have relied heavily on outsourced contractors to fuel our growth.  As the business has grown, we have steadily been hiring those contractors as full-time employers.

How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?

Our key differentiator over the last year is our focus on digital experience across both web design and digital marketing.  As Google has shifted most ranking factors onto user experience – such as page speed, time on page, user intent – traditional digital marketing approaches no longer work.  We have been able to improve digital success by leveraging a holistic view of both digital marketing and web usability together.  It is impossible to have success with one without the other.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

We tend to focus on B2B clients but have a number of B2C as well.  Our primary industries are manufacturing, high-tech, and biotech.  We have a high retention rate and easily 75% of our revenue is based on repeat/ongoing business.

Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?

We offer 3 main categories of services.  Our largest offering is web hosting & support.  Many clients approach us to support them because they are dissatisfied with their current provider or need additional team support.  More recently, clients are coming to us for our digital experience optimization support – which includes web design, development, and digital marketing.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?

Our reviews tell the story best.  We typically get 5-star reviews for our service.  To meet our customer needs we have a team of experienced professionals that understand this is a human to human relationship building.  We try not to take on too many clients so that we can give each the service & support required.  The leadership team often reaches out to check in and make sure that the client knows we are watching the work being done.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?

We have a general support mailbox that is constantly monitored 7 days a week and we have staff that is available for emergencies whenever they happen.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

We either have a fixed cost or monthly retainer model.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

Our minimum budget is $25,000 for a web design project with no custom features and $4500/mo for digital experience optimization, which includes web support & digital marketing.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?

$25,000 - $150,000.

Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?

We expect to see our company double to triple in size. We want to maintain our high-touch, white-glove services to clients that are like-minded in their vision of the need for digital experience optimization.
