Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Participation in your platform’s investigation as one of the most efficient and productive IT companies is important and valuable for us. This makes it possible to be known to a wider and more appropriate audience in order to search for potential clients. Your research inspires confidence in our clients and means a lot to us.
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
I, as a founder and CEO of A2SEVEN, represent a software development company with a primary focus on delivering end-to-end software development services.  During the last 12 years, we have successfully launched more than 100 web and mobile applications. In establishing the company I had to hold different positions in the company: a programmer, a marketer, and a salesman. But today I have built a strong and creative team to which I can delegate the current tasks, so I can deal with the company's development and promotion strategy.
What is the story behind starting this company?
The foundation of our company has a long history, but I will tell you the main and the most important points.  The company was set up twelve years ago to make money by doing what we do best. We took on many projects because we enjoyed writing code.

For a while, we were happy to make money doing what we love, but there was no sense for what? Where are we going?  I had the idea to change everything globally, I wanted the products we created to be high-tech and useful for our clients. We began to change our approach to development and it turned out to be not so easy not only for me.

Unfortunately, not everyone was ready to share the mission with me. Thus, not only the ongoing values were established but also a strong and like-minded team to support them. That's how the A2SEVEN team and our 7 core values took shape. Here they are:
  1. We care. It is important what we do and what the result will be.
  2. We learn new things and share our knowledge and experience. Success is impossible without openness and engagement with the outside world.
  3. We're passionate about what we do. Сool things aren't being done under pressure.
  4. The result is more important than the process. Processes are important, but they are futile without results. We always choose a good result today over a perfect one, but never.
  5. We are not afraid of responsibility and always keep our promises. We never back down.
  6. We are open and honest with colleagues, clients, and above all with ourselves.
  7. We don't stand still, we constantly learn.
What is your company’s business model – in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Our team provides an in-house full development cycle from pre-project planning to post-release support.

We provide two main types of services: outstaffing - when a client comes to us with an idea and we fully conducted analytics, design, development, testing, launch, and support, and the out staff model, when we provide resources in the form of a team or individual specialists, strengthening the client team.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We have an individual approach to each client and do not have any tariff plans imposing unnecessary services to clients. We investigate the issue to provide you with a concept analysis to identify its weaknesses and generate hypotheses.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Most of our clients are in the fintech, edtech, and foodtech industries, but we go beyond these areas and help clients to automate business processes, make MVPs for startups, and support already developed applications.

Yes, clients come back to us if they want to continue the work or launch a new product. We are currently working with one such client on an edtech project. Today long-term contracts (from a year or longer) have the highest priority for us. We do not work on the number of clients but focus on product quality and client retention. According to our marketing calculations, about 1 in 5 clients have contacted us repeatedly and every 2nd client has recommended us as a contractor.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
Our main focus currently is the web and mobile app development to deliver projects on time and maintain the top-notch code standards. But regardless of the project type, if we build it starting from an idea only, we do the pre-project analysis in order to create a system requirements specification that includes schemes of work and interaction of systems, the list of technologies and tools, wireframes, transitions and interactions, user stories and all the necessary information for the beginning of the work. We also design and prototype the project so that the client can see the end result immediately.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
The best way, of course, is to ask our clients. But in general, you can judge the level of satisfaction based on ratings on GoodFirms, or our company profile on Upwork. We try to be on the same page with the client, we have regular customer satisfaction surveys, where they can suggest improvements or comment on what they do not like, but usually, we do not receive such comments.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Each client has a personal manager, who helps the team be on the same page with the client. We are open to our clients - every week we give them updates. They also have unrestricted access to the ongoing results.:  The manager helps prioritize tasks, maintains accountability, and establishes effective communication to avoid misunderstandings. Most projects start with detailed terms of reference. We have a strong business analyst who helps with this part of the project.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We focus on the client's convenience in choosing a payment scheme. Most often it is an hourly fee for one or more specialists who work on the project. If the client comes to us with a project at the idea stage, we offer a full buyout of the team. In such cases we get paid at the end of the month, taking into account the actual hours spent. We also can work on a fixed cost, usually with small projects, so that we can calculate exactly how many hours it will take to complete the tasks.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We take on projects starting from 15 000 USD, as this is the minimum price for MVP on the technology stack we use. If we see that the project can be implemented with a boxed solution, we don't waste the client's budget and advise to either ask our partner or any other company which deals with similar projects.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
Last year we worked on projects that cost from 15 000 USD to 200 000 USD, some of which are still in development.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
One of our company values is we care about what we do and what the result will be. So in order to make such a prediction about the company, my team and I hold a strategic session once a quarter. And this is one of my most effective formats of work with my team. We build together the goals and plans of the company. So we see our company in 10 years as -
  • We have 500+ employees.
  • We cover all of our clients' needs from consulting, analytics, and design to final product development.
  • Our main clients are large and well-known billion-dollar corporations.
  • We are one of the world's top 100 custom software development companies.
  • We are one of the top 5 companies in the development and integration of analytical systems and working with big data.
  • The company's turnover is more than 10 000 000 USD.

Task

Our developer was joined to the main team as an outstaff specialist to refine the existing and create new functionality. We had the task of making changes to the admin panel and implementing new elements to make the work and the application management easier.

Work process

The development team implemented the following tasks:

  • A tool for working with tree structures inside MongoDB;

  • Category tree management with XState (finite state machine) and tree mapping via D3.js. This method structured information in database and eliminated delays in data processing, i.e. made filtering system more comfortable for users;

Results

The client received new functionality, which simplified the work with complex category trees and increased the speed of designers' work. There was developed a new approach to code organization and reusable components accelerated the process of developing the frontend part of the application. The client was satisfied with the result and left positive feedback about working with us.

Surevision (Eclipse) is an Australian platform, synced with third-party service Broadsign, designed to create and customize content for ad campaigns on various digital billboards around the world (advertising screens in shopping malls, plazas, local stores, etc.).

The client came to us with a request to create an application for their users so that it would be convenient for them to work directly with their screens to show ads and commercials in shopping malls, stadiums, streets, etc.

Thanks to the developed functionality, the work for the client was simplified:

  • The interface became clear and convenient, and users were able to get away from having to work directly with the Broadsign;

  • The ability to quickly view media added to an advertising campaign is now available;

  • The role model allows an administrator to manage user rights;

  • Reduced client’s labor input  (previously, when using broadsign directly, all of these functions could be performed only by the official representative of the company).

Zooky is Canada's platform for realtors and real estate seekers. You can use it to post and search for real estate advertisements.

Project Objectives

The client wanted to develop a fast, modern, SEO-optimized application that should be also optimized for search engines. But at the same time we needed to make it simple and user-friendly. The old version of the application was an ordinary informational website.

Technology Stack

Dynamic and interactive user interfaces were made on the basis of React.

Google API, Google Maps and Street View were used to work with maps, so you can find and view property in a particular geolocation.

NextJS was used for search engine promotion.  It allows developers to create and add dynamic meta tags, making the site perfectly indexed by search engines.

Results

Canada's No. 1 marketplace.

ZOOKY actively attracts investors, including through the introduction of cryptocurrencies.

Review Summary

I am very pleased with my partnership with the team - you can always feel their careful attitude towards the projects, as well as the high level of management and serious technical skills.
With the development of projects involving A2SEVEN, our business achievements are constantly increasing. Initially, our cooperation with the team began in 2019 with the BCS digital platform project. This is a B2B system for selling life insurance policies. Later, we engaged with the A2SEVEN team to develop a personal account for our insurance company clients. Despite the fact that these systems have long been in production, we continue to work on expanding the functionality of these systems together with A2SEVEN.
For the last year and a half, we have paid special attention to the DP-policy project, this is the functionality that allowed us to enter online sales of life insurance policies through the World of Investments mobile application.

It took me six months to find these guys and I could not be happier. Professionalism all the way through from the CEO, Project Manager and Development team.

I very highly recommend Lodoss. It is not easy to find a good development team and especially when you can not work side by side with them. But they make the entire project an enjoyable experience.

Review Summary

To date my experience with Lodoss has been nothing but professional and rewarding. Lodoss has been easy to work with, right from their business manager to the project side of things.

They built the entire front end of our project on time and on budget - without issue. They work fast and understood our requirements so there was very little need for me to spend time on clarification. Their team works well with our technical team and specifications and we have experience no issue here.

Now that the platform is in production, when a small issue does come up Lodoss is there to fix it quickly, without question. Our platform is working now, we are signing up users and our business is moving forward.

I will continue to work with Lodoss as our business continues to expand. And I would recommend that anyone looking to create any sort of app or software platfrom would consider Lodoss for their project.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

The understanding of requirements. They are up front about asking for detailed requirements but once they have these requirements they were able to develop exactly what we were looking for. Communication - if there was any lack of understanding Lodoss was quick to communicate and resolve any outstanding issues. Speed - we would see progress every single day, which is rewarding for a business owner.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

QA process - not there was a specific issue just that QA process could have been more transparent. More QA reports.
