Review Summary

After having been burned by companies claiming to be offshore, I had my doubts about AbeloHost when I first signed up to their service over three years ago, but I'm glad I gave them a shot. They are now my go-to company and I recommend it to everyone who is interested in offshore hosting.

However, if you're looking for a host that will let you run a dark web site, phishing scams or illegal content in general, this is not the hosting provider for you. Based on what I've seen, they do a lot to prevent any sort of illegal activity on their servers. I guess this sucks for people looking for anonymous hosting where they can run all sorts of shady actions, but it lets us regular customers have a peace of mind when it comes to our sites.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Their customer support - it's simply outstanding.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Server status communication. I suppose they are doing their best, but I once had to wait for a couple of hours to get my website back up after it went offline for some reason. During this time, I didn't receive any status updates until the issue was resolved. I'd have appreciated a simple follow-up message letting me know what's wrong and what they're doing to resolve the issue.
