I may be the face of Apna Writer. But the backbone and true treasure of Apna writer is my excellent team of competent writers, editors, and project managers.

What is the story behind starting this company?
The story that carved the way for Apna Writer is quite exciting, I must say.
I always had an entrepreneurial streak in me. Despite being a B.Tech graduate and keen learner, I was unsure how to start my journey.
After my marriage, I ventured into freelance writing, from which I could get a decent income. But, I knew this was not enough. My dream was to create my own identity!
Through my freelance writing career, I realized that there were many loopholes in the platforms which provide freelance working projects. And Bingo! I found my startup idea.
I planned to create a platform that connects publishers and skilled writers. But, the problem was, I had no clue about business management, which is essential to run an organization.
But, I believed in myself. I did not allow this lack of expertise to become a barrier between me and my dream. I started using two very prominent resources that I had with me: Time and the Internet.
The curious kid who was hiding within me showed its magic! I kept myself updated about everything that was required to start and run an online business. I learned about many business systems that I could use in my business journey.
Without any delay, I launched my first ever startup. It was a market platform that connected the publishers and the writers. It had all the possible facilities for writers to sell and publishers to buy.
And I am not talking about Apna Writer here. This is about my first and hopefully last unsuccessful entrepreneurial adventure.
This may be unsuccessful in terms of business. But the learning and work experience of four years at my platform was no less than a jackpot for me! I learned many aspects of entrepreneurship that no online information could ever teach me! Experience is your life's best teacher after all.
Yes, I couldn't find out the drawbacks my platform had because of a lack of experience and guidance. One was, there were too many options on the platform, which made the clients confused. And the second was I failed to ensure the quality of content provided to the clients.
I didn't know back then that every writer can not produce high-quality content, and it isn't easy to find these potential writers.
I realized that, for the success of any business, customer satisfaction is essential. You need to focus on your offerings' quality, and it will take you to greater heights!
I learned these facts from my failure and bounced back with the launch of Apna Writer.
And today, Apna Writer is doing a wonderful business, and it is all because I implemented the learnings from the failure of my previous venture. Now, we focus only on finding skilled writers who know how their words can affect the business world.
What are your company's business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
I firmly believe that there should not be any restrictions on working with talented and skilled writers.
However, we have our in-house team of writers and editors who are brilliant at what they do.
But, sometimes, we get a vast and overwhelming number of assignments. This is the time we go for outsourcing to manage our services.
We work with freelance writers who are filtered through our quality tests. Even though these freelance writers provide quality content, we make sure that it gets approved by our editors.
None of our content services is delivered without the final proofreading by Apna Writer editors. This is how we ensure high-quality service to our clients.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
There is a huge competition out there, no doubt about that.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Whenever we get feedback from our clients, I look into the issue and guide my team. We work even harder through our unlimited revisions to get the content as per the client's expectations.
When we do this, it is a win-win situation. We work as a team, and that is our greatest strength.
We need clients as much as clients need us. So, how can we not satisfy them with our services? Isn't it?
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Every project is different in terms of the requirement and payment system. There are many news agencies whom we work with on a monthly basis. On the other hand, we get projects based on pay per word and based on the pay per project.
But, mostly, we end up getting the projects which are based on pay per word. This is the general criteria in the content service industry.
When it comes to pay per word system, many factors are considered. These include the experience of the writer assigned, content format, amount of research required etc.
We have also provided content services for new startups with no profit and no loss. This is because we believe that every newbie in the entrepreneurial journey requires support, and we are happy to provide this support in the form of content. And who knows, they may turn into our clients for a longer term!
Do you take in projects which meet your essential budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We do not differentiate the content depending on its quantity. No matter how small the content requirement comes to us, we are always ready to give our best service. We do not have any specifications on budget requirements. We expect only one thing from our clients; that is clear and precise instructions. The clearer the instructions are, the better the quality of the content.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects you catered to in 2020?
We have worked on projects ranging from one thousand to 2 lakhs. We never bother about the value of the project we work on. What we focus on is the repetition of orders from the clients. And this is our main agenda!
Where do you see your company in the next ten years?
When you think about the long term, direct response marketing is not enough. Instead, brand marketing would help us in the long run.
Right now, we are building our foundation on maximum customer satisfaction and not getting distracted thinking about the profits. This is how we have planned to build our brand in the content service industry for now.
But yes, we have plans for scaling up our business. Currently, our profits are below 10%. But these numbers don't make us feel bad when you have fantastic customer feedbacks on your reliability and customer services!
When I look back at the journey, I feel proud. And at the same time, it motivates me to work even harder to make Apna Writer a trusted and powerful brand.
