Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
AppTrait Solution is one of the leading mobile app development company headquartered internationally in the USA and nationally in Gujarat. The company aims to revolutionize the digital world by rendering top-notch quality software solutions. Being the founder of the company, I lead my team and helping them walk through the entire process of app development. Here, we not just create but innovate.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
I have always read about do what you love and love what you do. Moreover, I like to develop software and so worked for a company as a developer. However, there, things were restricted, and I felt bound. I had to do a project allotted, and there was no option to deny any. After years of working for a firm, I was struck with an idea of freelancing. It was an excellent way to do what I love. I had the freedom to sort the projects as per my choice. Things went pretty good until there were times when my hands were full and I‘d to deny projects due to time constraint. Soon, I realized that being a freelancer was a better option but not the best.

So, again, my mind started debating, questioning, and seeking answers. After a series of tests and trials, here I am the founder of an app development company. What strives the success of my company is its members. We all think alike and have similar goals. This gives leverage to the projects we work on fueling growth.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
As said, we are a team of developers and hence, do not seek help from third-party vendors. Our members are skilled and have the propensity to deal with all issues. Even if they fail, they are curious enough to dig and find a solution.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Choosing to work with an in house team might require little more efforts but trust me that's way too better in client-centric projects. Our mission is to keep our clients happy and satisfied with what we deliver. So, when we are all together under the same roof, it becomes easier to plan things, draft the workflow, and work on the loopholes.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repeated to you?
We never restrict our services to any industry. Any or every business screeching for ways to voice their services through an online portal, we are happy to help. We continuously thrive to achieve customer satisfaction.
Yes, our clients are happy with our services, and till date, we have a 100% retention rate. Well, one night does not require redeveloping a website, but we promise after deployment support too.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
Now, this is something we analyze comprehensively. Once we receive a project requirement, the business & development team would sit to determine the core features, app quality, and of course, the vertical for which the app needs to be developed. What we strive to achieve is better features and budget specific solutions, no wonder if that requires an extra day for a project.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
Efforts do not depend on the domain we work. Whether we are working for the front-end development or the back-end, they both require specialized expertise and vast knowledge to render efficient solutions. Moreover, as far as your question is concerned, the fact that front-end has more of designing and should be such that it appeals to the user, we spend a little more time on the same.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
For most of the projects we go by what the client says but if the ball is in court, we first analyze the target audience, like the ones who are expected to engage with the app, the price factors (less price goes for the platform with lesser development cost) and the type of application to be built.
Which platform do you suggest your clients begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Specifically, we don't compel to choose either of them. Moreover, the decision primarily depends on the app requirements. Targeting users of USA or maybe foreign countries, apps are built for iOS and the Indian users, the choice narrows down to Android.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Whether it's Android or iOS, a native app, or a hybrid one, we build apps for all platform. We have a team of dedicated experts, and they never step back from working on any of the stated platforms for app development.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
The project cost is not something that anyone can estimate. A designated business analyst is employed to look into the app requirements added with the project feasibility. Only after studying every aspect of project minutely, do we end up with cost estimation.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
The payment structure is based on the working model. If we are working on a fixed cost project, then we prefer payment per milestone. However, if we are working on hourly, then we expect the dues to be cleared by the end of the month. Though we are strict in all the rules we lay forward; our company is always open to modifications if at all required by the client.
Do you take in projects which meet your essential budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We never asses a project based only on the budget. The first thing that strikes our attention is the project deliverables. Is the project exciting and challenging, if yes, we look forward to furthering the conversation? Money comes next, not the most important but yes always in our priority list. After all, we cannot do charity. The least possible count on which we agree to work is $5000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
We dealt with plenty of projects last year, which were both challenging and dramatically different. Of all the projects, the minimum and maximum price sums up to $4800 and $100000.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients, enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
No doubt there exists a range of models but not all rank the same on the revenue graph. To be more precise, paid promotion, in-app purchases, and referrals are the most successful methods for revenue generation, and hence, based on our client understanding, we suggest the same.
