Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Our GoodFirms profile is still relatively new. However, we've noticed that it's an excellent idea to share the link to our profile when introducing ourselves to new clients. GoodFirms make a real effort to verify the reviews, so we definitely increased our credibility in clients' eyes.
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company
I'm the CEO & Founder of Blazity. My role is twofold – one aspect of it is overlooking all our technology choices (as I have a technical background and programming is my strong suit). The second aspect is a strategic one. I work very closely with my COO to build bulletproof strategies for the future and to always be able to pivot our company to an extremely fast-changing online world.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
I've noticed a poor overall quality of communication in the Polish-based companies and I wanted to change that by building a responsible organization that treats every client with equal professionalism. Since I'm very passionate about programming, software agency was a natural fit.
What are your company's business model: in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We work with the in-house team, and we make sure to pay great attention to our interview process quality. We want to work with experts and experts only.
For UX/UI purposes, we work with partner companies.  We do that to be able to 100% focus on the software implementation part to provide outstanding results.  We are lucky enough that our design partners are world-class professionals, so products that we deliver together match that benchmark.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
I believe that our business model isn't unique – we build software for our clients, and they pay for our services.
What's really standing out is the quality of communication and the final product that we deliver. Since we work in a tight group of very experienced people, we provide incredibly high-quality results. Although, yes, it does mean that we serve fewer, more select customers.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We have two main areas of focus – start-ups (even inside-corporation start-ups)  and mid-sized companies. We have roughly 40% repeating customers and 60% new customers.

Blazity decided to talk a little bit about both – web and mobile development since they do specialize in both, with the primary focus still put on web applications.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
This can greatly vary between the projects – we've done work, where a mission-critical and a very complex backend requires little to no UI. On the other hand, there are projects where the presentation takes hundreds of hours to design and code, yet all it has to do data-wise is display a single JSON.

In terms of the development time frame, it usually comes down to how feature-rich the app has to be and if time is of the essence, where potential trade-offs can be made.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
The OS of choice depends heavily on the project requirements and the target audience, so there is no right answer. In general, we do most of our mobile work in React Native, as it allows us to reuse a lot of code between the platforms and potentially save a lot of time and money, while still delivering a seamless native experience. However, there are some specific cases where we recommend a fully native approach targeting a specific mobile OS.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web or mobile application?
Firstly we do the discovery phase with our clients – we determine what's the real business value of the product they are looking to build. Armed with this data, we determine the cost based on the required work that we need to put in and the said value that we bring to the client.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We provide a somewhat unique pricing model – while most of the industry moves towards Time & Material, we are going the opposite way. As we gain knowledge and expertise, we move towards the Fixed Cost For Everything We Do model. What it means is that we provide an exact fixed price cost of a fully functioning product, before we begin the development. That way, our clients can sleep safely, knowing exactly how much they will spend. No overpaying for extra hours. Ever.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Our minimum budget requirement is relatively low as it starts at 5 000 USD. However, we do some consulting work as well, so the exact figures can vary.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
It's between 5 000 USD and 60 000 USD.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile or web applications? Why?
There is no silver bullet. Some apps can monetize solely on ads (we usually don't recommend that), while others would just hurt their revenue by implementing them.
Let me give you an example – last year we built a mobile application, Dropsy. Its primary source of income comes from users being genuinely interested in their content.

That's why we suggested zero ads, zero required sign-in, just let the users enjoy your app. Customers are pleased about that approach (hundreds of 5* reviews), and the Dropsy crew is brilliant in their ways to monetize this product, so they earn more than they would with ads and user-data collection.

Review Summary

Our joint project with Blazity was development of mobile application from scratch - Blazity has been with us all the way from defining business needs through designs to complete development and deployment. Project included a custom CMS integration and full deployment to the App Store and Google Play aswell as UX design. We outsourced the whole app development process to Blazity.

Within 4 months after our app was launched, we do have nearly 70 000 active users, with an average score of 4,89 on Android and 4.9 on iOS.

We continue to receive great feedback from our users, with UX and smooth operating being frequently listed as most attractive qualities. We're generating revenue since day 1, and we continue to see its growth.
