We actively seek out new business, since we’re relatively new and are growth driven, but 70% of our work comes from existing clients or clients who have worked with us in the past. Our clients belong to different industries, so we can safely say we’ve worked with almost all business verticals, from manufacturing, real estate, finance, e-commerce, travel and retail to more novel projects for the EdTech, pet care and even spiritual wellness industries.
Technology consultancy to solve unusual problems using digital tools is gaining traction in the market, now that companies want to digitize so badly but at the same time prefer to modernize their business in planned steps rather than undertake a complete IT overhaul.
Application development has always been our mainstay, both web and mobile apps, and its adoption has only accelerated.
This is not by chance, at Cobold, customers are at the heart of everything. Right from the start, we take the initiative of decoding the customer’s needs and translating these into achievable, measurable goals. We also ensure active participation of the client in our development process and always keep an active communication channel during projects.
Also, there is a specific project head for every client. A single point of contact lets our clients focus their communication and provides clear accountability.
Post go-live of any project (once the project is handed over to the client), we offer a 60 days complimentary maintenance period where we take care of all small feedback that may be received when our client’s stakeholders and customers view the outcome. This really helps cement our relationship with the client for the very long term.
Fortnightly or monthly invoicing, fixed price payment structure or payments based on pre-defined milestones, we are comfortable with whichever works for the client.
Payments are defined by the time and resources needed for each project and we also provide attractive maintenance packages and retainers to our existing clients.
If it’s something that we haven’t worked on before, of course we’ll need to analyze the pricing to ensure that developing the talent in-house is sustainable.
Budget isn’t the most pressing factor, however, when we decide the viability of projects. Also, developing prototypes is an effective way we strike a balance between price and resources, and it ensures a win-win outcome.
The deviation in the price band of the projects we worked on was extreme, from $1875 (a tiny deliverable for an existing client) to a figure like $50,000 for an app built from the ground up on a project lasting close to 8 months.
But if I need to give you an average price, it would be from $8,000-$14,000.
Of course, growing into a 350-400 employee strong organization is important, but what I’ll weigh success against is the impact Cobold Digital achieves. Is the work we do extraordinary, does it make our society a better place? This is the most critical aspect of the business to me. Because without it, we’ll soon just be another face in a pressing crowd of ordinaries.
