Codotron Technologies is a full stack Web Application, SEO, SMO, and Mobile Application Development Company backed by top app developers that provide end to end complete business IT solutions across the globe. Since inception and success of Codulation Technologies (A Partnership firm), Codotron Technologies Pvt. Ltd. came into existence as the parent registered company.
As the director of the company, I manage the top level management, sales, financials, and quality for products delivered to more than 250+ satisfied clients in 30+ countries.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Almost 90% of people have already moved from web application to mobile application. People love using the application on their handy mobile devices. Our main aim is to establish a genuine relationship with every client we have. Many companies promise to deliver quality applications but fail to deliver at last. We wanted to establish a company that focuses on the minute details at the very beginning of the project, which ensures quality app launch. With this thought, Codotron Technologies came into existence and has grown tremendously in the past few years.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourc-ing?
We have the best-chosen app developers in the industry with rich experience that helps us in every technology vertical we work upon. Codotron has an in house team that has gone extra miles while delivering goods, which has got us where we are today. So we share a special bond with our developers.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
The main reason why we have a 90% client retention rate is our business model. Before starting of any project a dedicated team analyses the requirement in-depth and notes down every little challenge that could bother in the later stages of app development. So, our deadlines are accurate and our app developers ensure it in the delivery stages. So pre-planned launches as per client’s target audience never gets postponed. This has helped us to grow steadily in the past few years.
Conducting weekly project update meetings help us develop project transparency about the features we need to factor in during the development stages. Our QA team performs module testing to ensure each module works efficiently.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
The sky is the limit, and we believe in it. We have never limited ourselves to a set of industries to work for. We have expanded and have a rich experience in working in many industry verticals like Manufacturing, Construction and Real Estate, Health, Telecom, Education, Oil & Gas, Cryptocurrency, Retail, Entertainment, Food, Lifestyle and many more.
Yes, we have repetitive clients as we believe in the quality we deliver. They also refer us to the other companies and the people they know. Project transparency helps us to create a lifetime business relationship with every client associated with Codotron Technologies that enjoys a 90% client retention rate today.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of develop-ing a mobile app.
The initial stages are very important as they are what helps to decide the core architecture. The factors that are critical in determining the time frame includes requirement and analysis, feature complexity, scalability, third-party integration and challenges that might be faced in the later app development stages. More detailed is the requirement document from which the time-frame gets calculated. We conduct a detailed discussion with the client and our in house team to discuss every feature before the project is started in terms of UI, wireframe, and prototype model. Our deadlines are accurate, and our app development team works dedicatedly to meet it on time and every time.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mo-bile app?
It completely varies from application to application. The front end of the application takes lesser time as compared to the backend of the application. UI needs to be finalized by both the parties and hence has got a room for tweaks. UX is another factor determining the time frame of the front end. However, the backend of the application takes 60-70% of the time including all app development stages.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mo-bile application?
The parameters to be considered in selecting the right platform for a mobile application includes client’s business domain, his target audience interest, number of people to use application, application features, complexity, future scope, efficiency, and usability. We study each project requirement at a micro level on the basis of which we decide and suggest the best technology suitable for the mobile application.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
It depends on target audiences' interest, device usage, market segment, and cost. We suggest a platform to our clients after taking into these factors. However, the usage of iOS is more as compared to Android. Therefore, the client mostly focuses on iPhone Application Development first and then move towards Android Application Development. Enterprise accounts consider having both iOS and Android apps to be developed with dedicated quality assurance towards the end finished product.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
With past research and application development practices carried all over the world and in our company, the best platform to develop mobile applications is Native Android and iOS Development. Hybrid applications are developed mostly when the investment is low, or the app needs to be developed in a shorter time-frame. However, technologies today have developed an environment that runs applications both in the Native iOS and Android platform with high performance. But having Native Application Developed is the best practice to be followed.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Multiple factors are categorized in deciding the cost of a mobile application. The complexity of features, time frame, number of resources to be used in designing, development and quality assurance of the application are the deciding factors on which we decide the cost of a mobile application.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We work on two payment structures with regards to billing invoices for our clients. One is an hourly basis, and the other is a fixed cost to the project. The fixed price is divided into monthly basis as per the modules decided by both the parties, which is further tested by the quality assurance team. Quality is what we believe in, and our top app developers work dedicatedly to achieve it.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the min-imum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Codotron Technologies works on a minimum budget requirement of $5000. Mobile applications are generally expensive to build. iOS application is the most expensive followed by Android and Hybrid Mobile Applications. The least costly mobile applications are Hybrid mobile apps as they usually take less time to be developed and widely used with trending technologies like React Native.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
2018 is the year we expanded with many projects in the queue. The price range of the projects completed in 2018 is ranging from $5000 to $100000.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
There are a considerable number of factors to be considered while generating revenue through mobile apps. The suggestion of a business model is dependent on the business domain the client is working in. The business having fewer users can start with referring and earn, followed by in-app purchases, in-app adds display and sales funnels leading towards sales and revenue.
