Healthcare & Medical

THE PROJECT

New Zealand Doctor saw their next website as a vehicle for the future of media; a place where online publication became a breeze for reporters and subs, and where editors could effectively distribute content to multiple websites and email campaigns, or export for use in print.

Delivery of content and integration were key. To make this happen, the new website had to work as both a great news site and, behind the scenes, integrate seamlessly between the various subsystems:

  • Salesforce CRM (customer relationship management software)
  • Litmos LMS (learning management system software)
  • Double Click (Google's digital advertising solution)
  • Flexible Sampling (Google's new paywall solution replacing First Click Free)
  • Mail Chimp (email marketing platform)
  • PharmacyToday.co.nz (cross site article cloning)

Building the website on the Drupal CMS allowed us to really control the flow of information and streamline The Health Media's complex subscription, learning and advertising processes.

KEY DEVELOPMENT POINTS

  • Distribute content to multiple websites and email campaigns, or export for use in print.
  • Develop processes for deploying new features to single or multiple sites at the same time.
  • Sync Salesforce subscriber information with the website and various sub-systems.
  • Enable Single Sign On between subscribers and Litmos LMS.
  • Create a commerce solution for selling subscriptions and classifieds.
  • Integrate Google Flexible Sampling as a paywall for non-subscribers.
  • Integrate Google Double Click as a vehicle for selling advertising space.
  • Update subscriber lists within Mail Chimp.

FEATURES

  • LMS (Learning Management System) Integration / Salesforce Subscription Integration / DPS Payment Gateway / Cross Site Content Cloning

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Drupal Development

THE PROJECT

Working tirelessly, through the best part of a year, Communica acted as the main development partner for the Zagga marketplace startup.

We interpreted the initial concepts from the management team and marketing agency, defined them within a robust technology architecture and guided any additional tech partners in the overall process.

Key development points:

  • Develop a smooth, user friendly interface in which an investor can search for a loan and invest.
  • Develop the interface for customers and staff to interact with finPOWER Connect (the loan accounting system).
  • Create a Broker Portal to support the needs of resellers.
  • Abstract data for use in machine learning (to match investors with appropriate loans).
  • Integrate with several identity verification APIs for both New Zealand and Australia.
  • Underpin the project with bank level security.
  • Fulfil all requirements of the New Zealand FMA (Financial Markets Authority).

FEATURES

  • Machine Learning, Credit Assessment Scoring, Broker Portal, Marketplace Lending

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Drupal Development

THE CLIENT

Zagga.co.nz is a fully licensed marketplace lending platform which seamlessly matches sophisticated investors with credit worthy borrowers.

The brain child of Marcus Morrison, Edwin Morrison and Mark Kirkland, borrowers are provided with greater access to larger size loans not necessarily available through a traditional bank.

Investors on this platform can earn higher possible returns, while experiencing comfort in the knowledge that all loans are backed by real property.

Zagga's investment opportunities are fully transparent, risk assessed and scored so that investors can choose the right loans to match their investment goals.

Why zig when you can Zagga?

Advertising & Marketing

THE PROJECT

Sage 300 plugin software developers Orchid Systems asked Communica for a website re-design to help them stand out from their competitors, and bring some clarity and calm to a detailed and technical product range.

We worked with them on content architecture and design, to break their large, information-dense product pages into easily-digestible layouts, make them mobile-friendly, and to incorporate drawings from their in-house illustrator into a new look and feel.

The Drupal/Gutenberg editing experience makes layouts flexible.

As the amount of content required for products and ranges varied across their software, from simple one purpose plugins to complex customisation suites, we implemented a similarly unique approach to the product pages.

Gutenberg, a rich content editor, allows their editors to build effective product landing pages using a variety of predefined section layouts and colour schemes, combining them into a  unique layout as required. So the site feels at once homogenous and varied.

Gutenberg works well with mobile-friendly styles reflowing content across different devices.

The ability to highlight key product tutorials and information was a must, so they are able to place their related information “learn more” block onto the pages that need it, and reference content with a clear structure.

On-site search helps users find the answers they need, and  with some help on SEO as they went, the site is now search-engine and user-friendly.

  • Drupal design refresh with flexible Gutenberg editing

Healthcare & Medical

THE PROJECT

Sadly, not all New Zealanders currently receive equitable access to funded medicines. He Ako Hiringa is a service which helps bridge the knowledge gap and empowers health professionals to effect change. Merging education and statistics, this project was about pulling government and private resources together in a seamless and meaningful way.

To connect with the various personas who would be active on this platform, we worked hard to design a clean and inclusive interface, which presented the information in an accessible way, across all devices.

The most challenging aspect of the build, both in terms of design, user experience and architecture, was the creation of the on-boarding process. This needed to be a smooth, seamless transition for both subscribers within The Health Media ecosystem (encompassing their various publications and e-learning products) and non-subscribers within the wider health industry.

By querying The Health Media's existing subscriber database, we were able to facilitate an instant signup process, allowing users to sign up for He Ako Hiringa using their existing account from another The Health Media service. This technique is referred to as Single Sign On/In (SSO/SSI), where secure tokens are passed between sites, authenticating the user as they navigate between products.

For those in the wider Health Professional industry (not subscribed under The Health Media umbrella), we were still able to ease the sign up process by querying government databases such as the; Medical, Pharmacist, Nursing and HPI registries which could pre-populate user data.

Needless to say, any info provided within the He Ako Hiringa environment needed to be carefully managed. Both in terms of privacy and avoiding pollution of existing data (where a user already had an account for another service). Maintaining this tricky balance touched on all aspects of the build, and required deep collaboration with the client and strong project management skills.

To talk about good data architecture and integrating single sign on within your own digital platforms, get in touch today.

Business Services

THE PROJECT

Property Inspection Plus is a new business venture for an experienced building inspector.

Taking a holistic look at the marketplace, competitors and demographics, we worked with the client to develop a full brand response in terms of vehicle signage, stationary and online positioning.

Key values expressed through this work were:

  • Trustworthy, experienced
  • Clear communication
  • Transparent pricing

To ensure the website became an effective sales vehicle we architected the pages around a series of conversion strategies and worked hard to ensure information was clear on services, price and process, bolstering consumer confidence.

Customers are able to take multiple pathways to book online, or request a call-back at anytime if they have questions. Particular importance was placed on how products flowed through to the enquiry form and coupon functionality was added to allow the client to discount the purchase process where necessary.

All of this culminated in what we feel is a clear and approachable mobile-friendly website.

FEATURES

  • Logo, Branding & Wordpress site

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Wordpress Web Design
  • Logo & Brand Identity

THE CLIENT

Property Inspection Plus works in the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and Taupo, to provide comprehensive, clear, and trusted pre-purchase home inspections.

E-commerce

THE PROJECT

Acclaimed winemaker, Jules Taylor Wines approached Communica with the task of re-building and migrating their existing Drupal-based ecommerce site. Shopify was a great choice for the move given its powerful plug and play feature set and mobile responsive cart.

Our biggest challenge lay in developing differently themed product sections to reflect Jules Taylor Wine's sub-brands. Shopify struggles in this respect but we were able to overcome these short comings by coding theme overrides on specific product groups and creating custom age-gate/country pop-ups dependent on the site entry point.

The business benefits of this shift will quickly become apparent, as we’ve added functionality to:

  • Synchronise customer orders into Mailchimp interest lists.
  • Automate the process of abandoned cart emails.
  • Publish delivery requests via API into their chosen courier platform, GoSweetspot, cutting down double entry the possibility of human error while copying information between systems.

At launch all customer details and orders needed to be migrated from the old platform to new, meaning a whole lot of data checks but minimal disruption to Jules Taylor Wines customers.

In the end, we produced a beautiful commerce site to match a premium brand and enhanced customer experience, with neat tricks like an interactive stockist map and brand aware sub-themes.

Next steps include dynamic product feeds, re-order reminder emails, Google remarketing ads, and much more.

FEATURES

  • Ecommerce design and Shopify migration

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Shopify
  • Mailchimp
