The Condense Data Utility function helps in streamlining your company’s data file. When you want to use this feature in Quickbooks, you have to follow certain easy steps. But before condensing, consider that it is unavoidable or irreversible when achieved. So, after trying all other options, if you are still want a solution like that, then only go with condensing. Now, following certain steps to condense your Quickbooks desktop company file as :#1. Go to the File menu, select Utilities, and then Condense Data.#2. Move to the wizard to select the options you need. Go to ‘Help’, if you need assistance.#3. Then click on begin ‘Condense’. Before starting to condense, a backup and an archive copy will be created by Quickbooks. Remember, condensing your company files reduces their size as it removes the transaction details and list entries from the file. Your lists are not removed when you use the inventory items. If very few items will be condensed, the file size will not be changed much. Open transactions will hardly have any affect due to condensing activity and this will retain the file size unaffected.
