Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?

Debut Infotech is a global mobile app and digital product development company that leverages Blockchain, IoT, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies to reinvent the way enterprises do business and interact with the customers. Since 2011, we’ve been helping SMEs, startups, and global enterprises to harness the incredible power of modern digital products to drive their online businesses to unwavering new heights. Being the Director of Operations at Debut Infotech, I take care of both inter and intra operations of the company which include Sales/Marketing of the company, manage revenue, expenses and external financing to maintain the consistent growth of the business, building an in-house team, managing the brand and day to day activities of the company, etc.

What was the idea behind starting this organization?

Seven years ago, when our company Debut Infotech opened its doors, developing mobile apps wasn’t considered to be an easy feat. Our primary aim was to wipe out that mythology once and for all and make it easy & affordable for companies to build mobile apps. Since our foundation, we’ve been helping SMEs, startups, and global enterprises to harness the incredible power of modern digital products through our extensive, cost-efficient software application and product development solutions. We started with an aim to make an app (web & mobile) development a breeze, and that’s what made us a trusted name in the software development industry.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third-party vendors/ outsourcing?

We don’t specifically outsource or hire third-party vendors for any of our projects. We have an experienced team of 85+ (and still counting!) quick-witted professionals who work tirelessly to bring meaningful products to the market.

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?

Unlike obsolete business models, our business models are market-driven, flexible and scalable to ensure you get the service you need with proper pricing and that your project is managed in the most efficient way. Our business architecture is very stringent and tenacious, designed to accommodate solutions, not problems and excuses. We provide “Quality Assurance Certificate” to all our clients as a symbol of Authenticity & Client Satisfaction. We deliver projects a week in advance before the tentative delivery committed. Long story short, we offer flexible business engagement models which are cost-effective, result-oriented, and suitably designed & drafted to serve your specific business requirements.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

Since our inception back in 2011, our skilled, proficient app developers have been working unswervingly with a diverse clientele and exploring vivid industry verticals such as Blockchain, healthcare, hospitality, education, on-demand, e-commerce & retail, digital media, supply chain technologies, and IoT. We are extremely diversified; that’s because our clients are mostly startups (from all around the globe), so we help them make a great product (web/mobile app) no matter what niche they choose. This helps us gain expertise in new areas and grow as a company. It’s been pleasing to see that about 90 percent of our customers till date have come back to us for repeat business.

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.

Being a reputed mobile app development company, we do not commit to a project vacuously, without any information. Even while addressing a bug, we analyze the requirements meticulously and only then commit a time frame, as we don’t exceed our committed timelines. According to us, complexity, size and relevant experience of the project are the key parameters critical in determining the time frame of the mobile application.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?

At Debut Infotech, we follow an AGILE methodology, which is why we don’t work on the frontend and backend of a mobile app separately. At first, we create a wireframe of the product, and once 25 percent of the wireframe is done, we move to the designing part. Then, we approve the designs from the client before proceeding further to the functionality part. Later, the backend developer integrates the desired functionalities of the website with the system. However, in general, backend development involves more time and effort as compared to frontend development. Also, it depends upon the features and scope of the application. Simply put, the complexities of the specs determine the amount of time and effort that is required to build a mobile app.

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

There are numerous parameters which need to be taken care of before selecting a platform for a mobile app, which includes specifications, target audience (Android/iOS), demographics, technical features, timeline and budget of the application, etc.

Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?

Again, that specifically depends on countless parameters such as the target audience, demographics, specific age group of potential customers, user preferences, app features, and more.

Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?

It all depends on the specs, terms, the goal of the app, and its users’ preferences. We develop both native and hybrid mobile apps for iOS and Android using best practices and the latest app development frameworks. In general, native apps are always recommended over hybrid apps – if the client’s timeframe and budget are flexible. On the other hand, hybrid apps can be considered a good option when we need to deal with data and where user experience is not a significant factor.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

Cost of the mobile application specifically depends on the platform you choose, i.e. native or hybrid, the type of the app such as whether it’s a dynamic app or standalone or gaming app, the complexity of the app (features it includes), multiple language support, backend integrations, and the resources required to deliver the app within timeframe. At Debut Infotech, we’re committed to providing a very logical quotation only after brainstorming the complete requirements and technical feasibility of the application project.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

We follow three pricing models: fixed price (milestone-based model), time and material, and $10k MVP.
Fixed Price: After evaluating the project scope, we arrive at a single figure which is split into convenient payment milestones according to progressive stages in the product development.
Time and Material: For complex projects or those that involve variable cost factors or extensive experimentation, we propose a service menu rate card that clearly indicates resource costs such as talent, time invested, and materials involved.
$10k MVP: If you are a startup with limited funds or an entrepreneur bootstrapping your budget for the product, then we offer a $10K Minimum Viability Product.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

At Debut Infotech, we usually seek projects of the budget not less than $7,500 USD. However, we are not rigid with this. If a project of interest appears (and if we believe that it can add value to our organization), we never hesitate in accepting it.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?

In 2018, Debut Infotech worked on projects that ranged between $10,000 USD to a maximum of $50,000 USD.

Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?

We recommend our customers to choose a business model that allows them to target the potential audience and hit the right geographical locations, and that too within their budget and timeframe. The best working model would be “Time and Material” model. You pay us only for our efforts put into completing specific tasks on your project and for the time spent.
Some of its salient features include:
• Working in collaboration with the client
• Complete work transparency
• Weekly and daily work targets
• Full access to development reports
• Flexibility to change the needs without modifying the agreement
