Apps for Existing Businesses

It’s a misconception that every app is its own business. When people think of ‘apps’ they often think of standalone software like Uber, Tinder, or Spotify. But check your phone to see what you have installed and you’ll probably see plenty of apps that support existing businesses, rather than being their company’s only source of income.

These apps can contribute to the business in different ways. Budget airline Ryanair has an app for finding and booking flights, collecting boarding passes, and making in-flight purchases in advance. Ryanair further monetise their app by advertising related services, such as deals on hotels and car rentals.

This is just one example of a business model (an airline) that predates the smartphone revolution capitalizing on the opportunities presented by the proliferation of apps.

In fact, it can be a necessary step to keep up with the competition in a highly competitive market like the restaurant industry. Here, consumers have enormous choice with enhanced access to a range of providers via apps like Uber Eats.

But almost any traditional business can enhance its operations, support other projects, or boost revenue with a well-developed application.

Bravehearts: A Confident Vision

When interactive marketing agency Bravehearts began working with the cosmetics brand Oceanic, they had a clear goal in mind.

Increase customer loyalty for their client through an interactive web application.

But to deliver on this vision, Bravehearts needed developers. They were soon referred to us and we began discussing the scope of the project.

While Bravehearts had a clear ide of what they wanted to achieve with the app, it was in our discussions with them that the requirements of the project were defined.

Project summary: 

Develocraft developed an iOS and Android app with geolocation capabilities. They also implemented gamified components to spur users to carpool to work. Their responsibilities also included a teaser website.

Feedback summary: 

The mobile app attracted new users quickly and garnered positive feedback. Develocraft was invested in optimizing the solution and provided several design modifications to improve usability. Their bug-fixing and development pace was especially noteworthy.

PayLane

Project summary: 

Develocraft created a secure payment module and integrated it with an existing API. Features included support for recurring charges, payment through cards, and returns. The solution has launched.

Feedback summary: 

The payment module increased global client outreach. Customers can expect an accommodating partner whose technical expertise makes a difference in the finished product.

NAIS

Project summary: 

Develocraft provides outsourced development services and maintenance for a human resources software solution. The platform is mobile and web accessible, and they had to rewrite faulty code as a part of the project.

Feedback summary: 

The newly revamped platform has received positive feedback from customers thus far. Internal KPIs, such as onboarding process time and NPS, have improved substantially. The team is cooperative, stable, and flexible. Develocraft always provides stellar project management.
