PROFESSIONAL – PRECISE – PUNCTUAL
Born in France, with family on both sides of the English Channel, I was lucky to experience life in Dakar, Senegal before returning to Nantes, France where I received my Baccalauréat in Modern Literature and Languages. After successful studies at the University of Angers where I earned my Honours Degree in Business Management, I completed my education with a Masters in Export and Logistics from the Ecole de Commerce de Normandie.
I immediately started to work as in-house translator for a large European logistics company first in France then in the UK before settling in Glasgow, Scotland in 1993.
I have since held various commercial and managerial positions in the logistics and food industry, including two directorships.
I opted for a career change in 2014 and decided to take full advantage of my unique cultural knowledge, bilingual background and business experience to become a professional translator.
I worked in house for a year whilst studying for a professional certificate in French – English translation. Having successfully refreshed my translation techniques and gained some additional experience, I finally became freelance translator in 2015 when I launched Ecosse Translations.
