Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
eLuminous is a leading IT Solutions company in India established in 2002, serving the Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Solutions and Application development services for Digital Agencies, Enterprises and Tech Start-ups across the globe.
We are located at the Nashik, Maharashtra just 200 km ahead of Mumbai (financial Capital – India).
I am one of the co-founders of the company responsible for all the decisions taken for the existing or new offerings of services and client relationship management.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
We have started this organization with passion and belief that the young Indian talent pool can add value to the global businesses. We are trying to meet our customer's requirements by understanding western work culture, learning emerging technologies & integrity which is the value foundation at eLuminous.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
From beginning, we are developing projects with an in-house team only. It is a bit difficult and time-consuming process to connect with vendors or third party clients. It is always preferable to have an in-house team as we do have a chance to work with skilled people hired by ourselves.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
eLuminous tries to provide the best solutions according to market demands. We help clients to maximize their profits & minimize their investment by providing support at the very initial stage of lead generation.
There are many things to talk about in this context. But I want to mention a few things for sure
- We try to adapt to the work culture of the clients, so we give thumbs up only after a thorough review of the project. We continually strive to give the best solution as per the market trends. We are always enhancing the skills of the resources as per market demand and new technology trends.
- We help clients focus on their Core competencies, plus we offer overlapping shift timings to suit RSA, & GMT. So our clients never had complaints about the missed communication or time match according to the time zone and availability of resources. They do have complete control over the team with the help of Project Management apps along with mail, call or Skype communication.
This methodology makes us a bit different than others and in the results; we do have 70% recurrence of the clients.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We are working with the Digital agencies, enterprises and start-ups mainly. We have got an amazing experience to work with all of them. It helps us a lot to understand their work style, their expectations from us and many more.
If we talk about the individual industry, we serve the following industries as of now
- IT & Consulting
- Banking and Finance
- Media and Entertainment
- Healthcare and many more
We are trying to fulfil every niche requirement of the client from the beginning only. So as results we have a 70% retention ratio of the client.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
In the mobile app development process, we consider the following parameters to determine the time frame of mobile apps
- Resource Availability
- Third-Party Integrations
- Understanding the Business Logic
- The complexity of the App
The more clarity will be defined with the undefined requirements or any run-time changes for the apps.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
The time efforts completely depend upon the scope of the project and the complexity of it. The customized designing takes an equivalent time that module development takes. But comparatively, it takes less time than the front end and backend development.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
Before selecting the right platform for mobile application, we take into account major factors like the number of users, the concept of the application, target audience and the targeted country. Now, security and maintenance are the major concerns of the clients, so keeping the same in mind we select the best platform for app development (we also need to consider the support for the platform we gonna freeze).
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
The success of Mobile application rarely depends on the development part. It mostly depends on the target audience and the location. As an example,
- If I am developing an application for the USA client, I would suggest the iOS platform as there is large user base for the same as compared to Android.
- And if I am developing it for Indian users I will choose Android by default, as maximum user base rely on Android.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
As earlier stated, platform selection between Android or iOS totally depends on the client's requirements and targeted region and audience.
Now let's talk about the Native or Hybrid, the selection depends upon hardware involvement and project scope.
If the application is having rigorous hardware involvement, we must go for native app development otherwise hybrid app development will do for the applications with less hardware involvement.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Before deciding the cost of mobile application development, we consider the following factors given below.
- Scope of the project,
- The technology we use,
- paid libraries,
- UI/UX features,
- Server costing,
- The number of hours we required,
- The number of resources involved like designer, developer, tester, project manager, etc.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
The payment structure depends on the client.
We follow fixed cost & dedicated team payment structure.
If the client is ready with the complete project requirements they can go for fixed cost mode.
Or if the client is having initial inputs only, they can hire a dedicated team for it, as the project will be developed step by step and billing will be carried out monthly.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yeah, we do have a basic budget requirement of minimum 2500 USD.
We have worked on projects for a minimum of 400$ too, but it depends on the project concept. But it's not feasible for everyone as we need to manage the costs of infra, resource and other liabilities.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
From the beginning, we are trying to help our clients to maximize their profits with our services. We don't keep the money-oriented approach in business, rather we believe in providing the values to their business. But fortunately, in 2018 the minimum price range of we worked for was 2500 USD and the maximum was 50000 USD.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
It depends upon the purpose for which they want a mobile application.
For example, if the mobile app is:
- eCommerce-based: they can use push notification, offers, and discounts
- knowledge-based: they can earn through advertisements in the app
- service-based: they can earn through recurring user subscriptions
