Excellent value

We've been working with Flap Marketing since day 1, and it's a company that I am still very happy not only to work with, but also to recommend to others. I know for a fact that there's hardly any other company that would understand our industry, the language industry better than they do, and they are not afraid to go the extra mile. Even though marketing is just a small fraction of our cost, every week I've got somebody mentioning to us that our marketing is very visible and very well-targeted, so what we're getting is a lot of value with very little investment now, also in brain bandwidth. We worked out the entire framework at the beginning of our work together, and sustaining this is quite easy.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Understanding our market. Being able to coin messages. Well-organized and well-executed delivery.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Scalability is a problem for any company, so Flap Marketing also needs to handle this well, but so far the way they handled it is very satisfactory.

I worked with Gonzalo and his team to write translation and other language-related copy / content for our new website. Flap marketing went above and beyond my expectations and delivered a superior service. I couldn't be happier. They took the time to really understand my business and learn exactly what I was looking for. Flap showed a rare combination of content expertise, unparalleled customer service and provided these services at a very fair price. The communication throughout the experience was excellent! Not only will I use Flap Marketing again but I will else recommend their services to my colleague. This was a great experience!

Executive Interview
Gonzalo Fernández
Gonzalo Fernández
Executive Manager, Flap Marketing
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Flap Marketing is a digital agency that helps small and medium-size companies accelerate growth through strategic marketing and digital transformation.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Our company is the result of two friends that are passionate about marketing and business. The company was born in 2019, and since then it has grown. Today we serve clients in the UK, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Argentina.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We actually have a hybrid business model. We try to do as much as possible in-house through our team of content writers, SEO experts, web developers, and ad specialists. But for certain specific projects such as voice-over or original copywriting in certain languages, we do have to outsource work to a network of trusted freelancers.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We are a technology-intensive marketing agency. We’ve got our own IT department, and use +30 online tools to help our partners thrive in the online world.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Our focus is on technology and localization. Still, we’ve worked with companies across many sectors including life sciences, food & beverages, transport, and real estate.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
  • Website development
  • Graphic design services
  • Google & Facebook Ads
  • Content creation
  • Influencer marketing
  • Marketing campaigns
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
Given most of our clients are still with us today, I’d say the satisfaction rate is very high. We have regular meetings with our clients to discuss their ongoing needs and measure the performance of our team.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Each of our clients is assigned to an Account Manager that is reachable via email, phone, or WhatsApp. And whenever needed we can jump into a zoom/meet call to address urgent issues.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
It depends pretty much on the client’s needs. We sometimes work on standalone projects, but given we are a partner agency, we usually invoice our clients on a monthly basis (a fixed fee). We only work for other companies, not private individuals.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Given the nature of our services, we rarely work on small projects. That’s because understanding a company’s identity, tone of voice, and style requires research time and preparation.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
It depends pretty much on the client’s needs. We sometimes work on standalone projects, but given we are a partner agency, we usually invoice our clients on a monthly basis (a fixed fee).
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We see ourselves as a leading agency, not just in terms of revenue or numbers of employees, but also in terms of applied knowledge and customer service.
