Review Summary

I had breast cancer and incurred a substantial amount of medical bills, some of which I was unable to pay. Additionally, I had a dental procedure done by John Dale's office in Peoria Il that went horribly wrong due to negligence. My accounts went to collections and the agency hired this company. I spoke to a representative of the company named Laura. During the conversation I authorized monthly payments to be charged to my credit card because I didn't have sufficient funds to pay the debt. At that time I told her that I may contest the debt for the dentist because of the negligence and suffering I had incurred. Laura stated that if I did not contest the charge, the amount owed to the dentist would be charged in December 2019. She also stated that I did not need to appear in court. I did not contest the charges because it was something I didn't want to deal with and put on the back burner, which I shouldn't have. I received a letter from this company in the mail today stating that my HUSBAND'S wages were going to be garnished because of this outstanding debt; the other debts were already paid at this time. I called the company and Laura told me that I did not authorize her to charge the last payment for the dentist's debt and that they had sent a letter to my HUSBAND'S employer, how embarrassing! Additionally, I am being charged an additional filing fee for this wage garnishment procedure. I told her that she said to me that the payment for the dentist would be charged in December 2019 if I didn't contest the charges. She said that she didn't say that, which she did because I came straight home from work that day and told my husband about the whole conversation. She said that her notes didn't indicate that.In closing, my husband's reputation with his employee has been slandered and I have to pay an additional filing fee. The filing fee is not as big of an issue as the reputation of my husband in the eyes of his employer. I would not recommend this company to anyone and am saddened by the integrity of this specific employee. My suggestion for the company to improve their employee's note taking.
