Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
I want to introduce a self-explanatory name— Huptech Web— which roofs more than 32 "technocrats" in the team— including myself. "Hup" is to encourage and "tech" obviously relates to technology. It is more like motivating these tech-savvy enthusiasts to move forward rhythmically for developing digital platforms like websites and apps which can drive sales for our clients across various geographical locations including USA, UK, UAE, Australia to name a few.
Our credo is pretty clear— "converting a start-up journey into an enterprising brilliance." In a nutshell— Huptech Web is all about beating our expertise with every new project we take. We don't present ourselves in bits and pieces. We don't want to be known for specific expertise. We want to be the master of all trades. And that's where our account awareness helps us provide 360-degree solutions like account-based marketing. We delve into clients' prospect and offer solutions which are meant to bring changes in their business.
Talking about my role— I am the Chief Everything Officer (CEO) of the company. I manage everything within my creative range, and things are getting smoother with the competent workforce. I help my workforce succeed, and they help this organization succeed. My role is to keep this interdependent link intact without letting the stress overpower us.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Ideas are something which shapes up with time. Anyone who says that I had a clear-cut idea before starting-up the entrepreneurship journey can't be honest with himself. However, for us— there were specific triggering points which pushed us to go for it. And that's when we realized that it's essential to start.
Analyzing is good, but there are times when we kill opportunities in over-analyzing the market. The best entrepreneurship comes out when it's in the flow. Established almost 3 years ago on the 27th of September, we knew that ideas are the back-end, and interest is the front-end. If you have an interest, the ideas will follow.
Our vague idea-listicle was to introduce creative marketing to focus on the client's growth rather than ours. Just when the industry was overfed with traditional marketing techniques, we wanted to shoot some trailblazing digital marketing strategies. It made sure that we had the latest methods to conquer the e-users rather than using stale approach for driving sales.
What is your company’s business model– in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Often business models are cited as finding the economic context, which is right to an extent. But we can't begin our venture with this in mind. We must understand what we are trying to solve for whom. "Delivering as promised" is the best business model which no book will teach. It entirely rests on our shoulders and the seriousness with which we take up the projects.
Moreover, if it takes to bend business models to meet customer's expectations, then why not? Since our ultimate goal is to give timely-solutions, in-house team or gig collaboration— it doesn't matter.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Flexibility— that's enough to please the customers. We have flexible business models which fit precisely with the clients' requirements. Business models and clients' needs are like two halves of the jig-saw puzzle. You keep trying until one model interlocks with the requirement. Flexible business models stamp better returns and smooth success in reaching goals— and without a doubt— this separates us from our competitors.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
A start-up springs into an enterprise when "industrial background" doesn't bother you anymore. You are up for any niche, any challenge, and you have a belief that you can crack this.
We are in that stage. We are aware of the fact that our techno-warriors can fulfill the need of any industry without the technical-hiccups. But to speak, we have generated millions of dollars for our clients in healthcare, real estate, legal and compliance, manufacturing, IT, art & entertainment, advertising & marketing, and many more sectors.
And the cherry on the cake is— we have managed to develop credible relationships with our clients as we go into serving veteran-expertise. Our focus to manage retained customers as enthusiastically as the new customers make us an epicenter of existing client's satisfaction.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a web app.
A successful enterprise values the time of customers. Customers are not interested in knowing how deep we sit in the muddle of puds. All they want is— early results. Thus, we must calculate the precise time-frame before we even start. Stating the time-frame is 1/100th of the job done. It's more about punctuality and dedication throughout the project. We analyze the life-cycle of web-app development and measure the time-stamp for each step to figure out the estimated date of delivery. In addition to this, a lot of factors affect the delivery date, which includes the complexity of the project.
A web-app cycle includes understanding the requirement and complexity of the project, penning down the strategy, designing the user-interface, allocating the resources, developing the back-end support, integrating third-party services, and publishing it. As we are hardened-veteran in this stream— it's easier for us to find the expected date of delivery using our experience.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
Different website niche demands different intensity in effort and time. The first phase is the discovery phase, where we discover the nature of the website. If the site is an informational platform with the simple database back-end, our work progresses at a rapid pace. On the other hand, intricate and very complex websites with social media function, in-app purchases, visualization patterns, dedicated analytics, etc. invite more efforts at each step with customized back-end admin panel.
The good part is— all our developments are scalable depending on the customized needs, and we try to meet the end-to-end requirements in the estimated time-frame.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
First, we get into the details of the clients' requirement. We swill out all the business needs and find what platform can technically benefit them in the longer run. We do in-depth audience research and discover the targeted users on a specific device and platform. Based on that, we motivate our clients to choose the optimal solution.
We read all the influential parameters and environmental variables like the cost of the platform, performance urgency, visibility, user-experience; and show up with the accurate platform-development planning. We also explain all the pros and cons of working on a particular platform to our clients, and that briefs about what's ideally suited to them.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in the development of your web apps?
For all the technological shifts we have witnessed in the past two decades, we realize modern problems require modern technology slack. We work on bleeding-edge technology without leaving the futuristic technology out of the frame. Updating ourselves is the first step towards updating our clients. Their sales purely rest on our technology-stack, and slight negligence could cost both of us— to them, their customers; to us, our customers.
Here’s what we use as our front & back end.
The front end technologies:
The backend technologies:
4. Cake PHP
6. Ruby on rails
Do you offer website design templates or customized website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
If the sky's the limit ever made sense, it should have been for web development. Web designing is about endless permutation of creativity, and that's where customization comes in. Yes, web design templates have surely made web development a piece of cake for non-tech website owners. However, we believe that a good web designing team should be able to cope up with mind-numbing challenges and come out with the customized web solutions. And we are glad to be a part of such a team.
Also, in the standard industrial practice, companies trade-off customization with page responsiveness. And its cascading effect is observed in the page ranking. There needs to be a balance between interactive page and customized design. We know what Google and other search engines are baking in their algorithm. Hence, there's no point in compromising any of the two.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc)?
Discarding all the general perception, the best content management system (CMS) is the one which helps you intuitively manage the content. Overall, it's something which should ease your work, help you get rid of the existing problems, and display results as early as possible.
For us, Wordpress has been our go-to system which takes care of small to medium-scale enterprises. It clarifies the Content taxonomy options and is highly customizable. As of now, Wordpress has done wonders for us and pushes our creative and technical limits. And with extremely proficient 14 Wordpress developers, our team is looking to mastering the art of web development.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
We believe in the principle "a developing service brings the clients, a maintenance service returns the clients."
A minor loophole from our department might damage the clients' credibility and reputation in the market. The onus falls on our heads to secure them because maintenance is the bloodline of any business. We have to create a secure environment for the users and make platforms stand right as per the industrial demand.
The good part is— we also serve clients who already own a website. They can reach us for reaping the benefits of our Annual Maintenance Contract. We help them keep their website in-line with the latest requirements of the industry, and assist with bugs, missing links, and troubleshooting.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
As requirements change with time and a lot of factors alter the modules of the website, it's challenging to present the precise bill to the clients even before we have started. We can't look for any shortcut answers because clearly, there isn't any. We need to learn details about the modules and functionalities. With all the details collected in the early stage, we give the ballpark range and not the exact figure. But we try to stay as close as our predicted value, especially when we don't bill hidden charges to them.
Any website has three major components— web designing, the platform, and the security of the platform. And everything like digital marketing and content marketing follows them. Only after a thorough analysis of the requisites, and evaluating our efforts and time in finishing them, we offer the packages.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
We offer flexible payment models to our clients, considering their convenience. They have two transparent payment options to choose from:
1. We have mounted a tracking system for our clients to assess the amount of time we spend on arranging a fully-functional site for them. They can track a week-work before they make the weekly payment. Their assessment and constant queries keep us on our toes and motivates to meet the deadlines.
2. We are also deploying and implementing pay-per-milestone model successfully. This staves off the financial pressure of clients, and they only need to pay when we reach the specific milestone of the project. This method also ensures that our clients pay when our timed-delivery gratifies them for a particular project task.
Both the payment options are built-in hourly-based charges, and it depends on what they choose as per their feasibility.
Do you take in projects which meet your essential budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We'd want to serve whatever comes our way, but it's easier said than done. We want to help everyone to get their share of market-pie; however, that's not practical because the industry is cruel. We’re into working for longer-term. We prefer clients who shell their lasting trust on us and believe that we are the right solvers to their business problems.
And at the end of the day, it's about survival. We look to survive in the market at competitive prices, and 1500 USD is the minimum budget which complies with our basic budget slab.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
2018 was a brilliant year in terms of learning and serving. We had a myriad of clients pan globe, and each had a different set of requirements. Depending on their demand, our pricing ranged between 3000USD - 25000USD.
