Intspirit Executive Interview

Alexander Avanesov
CEO
Visit Profile
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Intspirit is a company that provides expert software engineering services. When it’s needed to make a technically perfect product - a smooth, fast, and easily scalable web or mobile application, we are hired.

In 12 years, we have completed over 300 projects for clients around the world. Among them are both major brands such as Blizzard Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Warner Bros., PetroChina, and start-ups that later became successful products with thousands of users.

I am the CEO of the company.
What is the story behind starting this company?
I lived in a small town with a strong technical university, around which many IT companies appeared. After I graduated from university, I worked in various organizations for 4 years, where I met Timur. He is now a co-founder of Intspirit, like me. Timur and I had a dream to find a place of work where employees would not be treated as a resource. We couldn't find such a place and we did build it.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Intspirit is a fully in-house team. We take great care in hiring professionals. We pay special attention to the technical level of candidates. Since all Inspirit co-founders and senior managers are technical specialists with 15+ years of experience in development, we put forward high requirements for the skills of candidates. And if a specialist managed to get into our team, we try to create the most comfortable environment for his work. And we are good at it. Most of our employees have been with us for more than 5 years, which we are very proud of.

For our clients, this means that they do not have to worry about the fact that the developer who creates a product for them will suddenly quit and a new developer will waste time diving into the project.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We write code with our eyes closed. Since everyone on our team is an experienced specialist, it is difficult to surprise us in terms of code. Whatever the new project looks like, if we break the task into small components, these parts will be familiar to us - we have done this many, many times already.
We provide quality service to our clients - accurate estimates, Friday demos, and daily reports.
And most importantly, we care about our client's product as if it were our own. We always help with advice on product development and often go beyond what the contract requires of us for the sake of a common cause.
We are also distinguished from others by favorable conditions for cooperation. We provide discounts for our regular customers. And for those who hire us for the first time, we offer first to personally verify our professionalism, providing free development within 2 weeks. If during this time the client decides that he does not want to work with us, he can refuse, which removes all risks from him.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We can work in almost any area. Most often we work with FinTech, EdTech, Enterprise, E-commerce, and Healthcare. We also have experience in Telemedicine, Legal, Real Estate, Travel, and many more.

Clients often contact us again, at least in 40% of cases. If the client has not contacted us again, most likely he simply no longer needs development services.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
Most often, we are hired by custom software development, SaaS applications, or CRM systems development. We are also employed to strengthen the client's in-house team.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
Understanding the customer's requirement for the product is a top priority. Our secret to success in this matter is simple - we communicate with the client and ask clarifying questions until there are no gaps. In the process of work, we also constantly show the intermediate result in order to stay on the same page with the client. According to our data, 99% of customers are satisfied with the results of our work.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We are always in touch via Slack, instant messengers, and phone. If we are in different time zones with a client, we adjust our working hours so that we overlap.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We usually accept hourly rates. So our clients can be sure that they pay only for the time spent on their project. But we are flexible and if the client wants another form of payment, we can consider it.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
12 years ago we started with tiny projects on a small budget. Today, when we have already earned a name for ourselves and can choose which project to take on, we prefer large projects. However, we do not have a minimum budget.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
In 2021, we completed a custom software development project, which we started in 2019 with a total cost of $3,000,000.
The minimum budget of $30,000 was for a small project that we did for our regular client.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We really enjoy being the ones who make our customer's dreams of their own cool product a reality. We hope that in 10 years we will be able to make even more customers happy, and there will be more good code in the world because we make it better.

We collaborated with Intspirit team for the first time and really enjoyed working together. They met all deadlines, provided the documentation -- including video, demos and daily reports..

Review Summary

I have hired and worked with many offshore individuals and teams over the last 20 years. My experience with Intspirit is one of the best I have had. For the past 2 years, I have been working with 1 full-time fulllstack developer and 1 part-time project manager. The project manager is fully fluent in English, highly organized, communicative, and provides any additional technical support to the developer to meet our specifications. The developer I work with is top notch. He is reliable and smart and it seems there is nothing he can't figure out. We have had some complex APIs to integrate and were very please he was able to figure everything out. The company is extremely responsive if I ever have a problem with the code, which has been very rare. I will continue to work with Intspirit and highly recommend them as an offshore development team.

Review Summary

The Intspirit team has developed for us a real-time system for monitoring the state of personnel and determining its geolocation. The staff used LoRaWAN trackers as terminal devices, from which we collected data and transferred it to the application platform developed by Intspirit. The minimum viable product included the display of geolocation from trackers on a map, followed by the generation of notifications for triggers, which include the SOS signal, impact, immobility. MVP was done by one developer in 3 months and has successfully passed proof of concept in several pilot projects with our end customers. After MVP was released we hired one more developer from Intspirit to work on adding new powerful features for the app. As a result, we have been able to sign several commercial contracts with real customer value.

What was the project name that you have worked with Intspirit?

IoT: Tracking 2.0 - Cutting-edge geolocation system for business desicions making

What service was provided as part of the project?

IoT Development, Software Development, Web Development

Describe your project in brief

A project started with emergency recovery work to have the existing functionaly developed by the previous team being working properly. Then, outlined the scope for product grow - rewrote completely the frontend to the most modern framework, set up the project infra and continued to work under "heavy" features like registering trackers, integrations with 3rd party services to get trackers data and proceeded with online tracking of personel, vehicles and record paths made by personel&vehicles. As a result we have developed a system for quickly obtaining geolocation from mobile objects with notifications for triggers, which include the SOS signal, impact, immobility.

Review Summary

We came to Intspirit to provide web development support working with our CTO to build a sophisticated beta of our volunteering platform, so we could help people as quickly as possible at the start of the pandemic. They understood the brief very quickly and provided incredible support, as in my experience no web development project is as simple as the wireframes. Their two developers were efficient, highly technical and we found to be a wonderful extension of our team.

Incredible technical skill - they knew what they were doing and could advise us based on experience

Easy to work with on an interpersonal level and they really cared about what we were building

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Nothing comes to mind and I'd certainly recommend them - our accomplished CTO was similarly complimentary

Review Summary

I came to Intspirit after taking a loss from a previous outsourced development company. I was amazed at how thoughtful this team is, they were very dedicated to our success and put so much hard work into making my dream a reality. I always refer friends to them. I had to end this relationship because I raised a VC round and my investors pushed me to fully bring all tech in-house.

What was the project name that you have worked with Intspirit?

Awarenow.io/Profi.io custom software solution development

What service was provided as part of the project?

Software Development

Describe your project in brief

Profi.io (rebranded from awarenow.io) is a SaaS cloud ERP solution for professional service providers, servicing coaches, consultants, trainers, and therapists. We help professional service providers streamline their business operations and maximize their impact.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Thoughtfulness, they did what needed to be done, vs what they were told/paid for only

Performance outside of the box, they were very actively engaged in every aspect of the business

1,000 dedication to the quality. The team was constantly pushing back on my ideas, prioritizing quality over speed, and very rightfully so

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

I think they should help founders with their IT networks and help build the teams around them - tech writers, QAs etc.
