What was the idea behind starting this organization?

The idea to start this Software Development Company was initiated by Kapil. Kapil (Also the director and CTO) and I wanted to work together and therefore we started our own venture, called, “Kadam,” the name of our school time friends group. Here every letter represents the initials of all school friends’ names.

Except Kapil and Me, other group members were not in the condition to start this company. However, Amit Gupta (Company Director acting as CBO now) showed interest in our idea, and joined us.
 
Our first project of this venture is Healthdrop, It is a doctor-patient online consultation platform (Medical second opinion).

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

KadamTech has an in-house team of web designers, software developers, graphic designers, content writers and technical project managers to uphold the highest standards for project planning, execution, delivery and support.

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?

Our Business Model is quit flexible and designed according to the client's needs. Right now we are working on following business models:
  • Pay as per the Tasks 
  • Fixed Prices basis 
  • Pay by the hour
  • Dedicated Remote developers
  • Onsite developers
Many other companies are providing these business models to their clients, but we are different in one thing: we charge clients as per the resources offered (Designer, Developers, Tester, and Project Manager), skills-set and their experience.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?

It totally depends on mobile app features & functionality. As per my experience 
  • Front-end: 4-6 weeks 
  • Backend: 3-5 weeks

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

  • Business Objective 
  • Targeted Audience
  • Mobile app Development & Maintenance cost

Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?

It depends on the Project Audience Target. If client wants to develop an application and its targeted demographics audience are mainly using the Android devices then we suggest the client to develop Android mobile application first and vice-versa.

Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?

These things depend on many factors
  • Size of application in terms of features & functionality – If an app consist many functionalities & features then it should be developed in Android and iOS native platform.
  • If application size is small and medium then I would suggest going with React Native. 
  • Audience Target: If the client wants to develop an application and its targeted demographics audience mainly uses Android devices then we suggest clients to develop Android mobile first.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

  1. Technologies: Firstly, after analyzing the requirement we decide which technology stack will be best. 
  2. Team: After selection of Technology stack we decide the number of resources to be allocated to a project. 
  3. Time: Finally, we calculate each resource time on a project.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

  • Hourly Basis: Here we charge client on a bi-weekly basis i.e. The hours that have spent by the developer or project manager.
  • Fixed Price:  It depends on Project duration. 
  • If the project is of a very short duration like 1 week then we charge the client on task basis.
  • If the project is of long duration like more than 4 weeks then we will charge client on milestone basis

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

Yes, $500 is the minimum requirement.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?

$2000 – $30,000.

Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?

This entirely depends upon the business objectives of the client. There are several parameters that decide this such as target audience demographics, along with their age, and gender. After getting all such details, we provide clients a complete result-oriented business model.
