Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Mobiversal is a full-service mobile agency with a passion for building apps that improve people’s lives. Since 2011, we’ve turned ideas into apps for over 60 clients from more than 15 countries, successfully launched our products called Appointfix and FieldVibe. We're ranked among Europe’s “Top Mobile App Developers”.

As CEO of the company, my role is to oversee the well-being of the employees, ensure our team focuses on our vision and generally overseeing the excellent functioning of business on a macro scale.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
The idea behind our organization was to fill what was then a clear need for professionals within the emerging mobile app market.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Our company’s model is to blend product development with the services and consultancy we provide to our clients. In short, we develop our products but also help other clients with full software solutions (ranging from design, business analysis, project management, testing, and others)
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We believe that our agency is an incubator for the ideas of our clients. We help them turn their ideas into real, full-fledged solutions. Not only this, but every step of the process also involves the client, meaning that he/she feels a real contribution to the final product.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Our clients range from those involved with industries such as beauty, transport, food delivery, sport, HoReCa, field-management, music-streaming, and others. We do not have a particular sector, as we are generally flexible when it comes to the domains on which we develop software solutions.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
The time frame of developing an app depends a lot on the business requirements of said app. Depending on the needs, we enact a specifications document, which helps us not only narrow down the time frame of the development but also set the budget of a project. Moreover, the specifications document helps our Project Managers, who together with the tech leads make a timeline for the development.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
It depends on the size of the project. Sometimes the backend takes longer, other times the mobile app (because it needs to have a lot of screens and various instances of the same screens). Other times, the backend needs to encompass a lot of rules, which raises the development time significantly, as opposed to the frontend.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
Pretty much finding the right platform to fit the needs of the business. For some businesses, software solutions that are not native and are cross-platform may be enough (such as for news agencies who mostly provide read-only functionalities), but for others, a native solution (such as iOS or Android) are necessary to integrate hard business rules. Not only this, but performance also suffers from cross-platform solutions, most of them not being able to take advantage of the low-level, hardware aspects of the device they run on.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
It depends on a variety of aspects, such as the target market they are trying to reach, the budget they have. Usually, market research determines the proper platform for the target market of the application.

We suggest clients start with the platform that best reflects the target market of their would-be software solution (be it Android or iOS).
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Our bread and butter are native apps, but it depends on what you are trying to build. Native solutions can be overkill for something, such as a form-filling application or reading app. For others, such as a carpooling app, native is the way to go.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
The most crucial factor is the specifications document, which encompasses the business rules and the technical details of the application that needs to be built. Based on it, our Technical Business Analysts come up with a budget for the project.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
It depends on the project and the client, but usually, we have the specifications document as the base for the cost. Inside the specifications document, the features of the software are elaborated on, so you could say that the payment structure is built by adding the elements together, so a Pay per Feature.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We do not have a minimum budget requirement, but we do need to know that the project will be worth not only our time, but also our clients'.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients, enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
It depends on what problems the business solves. If it is a field-management solution, then the pay-as-you-go model might be the appropriate one. If it is a video-game, then maybe interstitial ads are the way to go. There is no clear-cut, one-size-fits-all business model, so you have to research and maybe even change models from time to time if the current one does not provide you with your desired financial outcome.

Review Summary

Mobiversal helped me develop a fully functioning nightlife mobile app for my first venture, NiLi. The app was able to sync with bouncers phones at our partnered nightclubs, so we could track info such as girl to guy ratio and how crowded the venue was at that very moment!

The App also communicated with our website so that different venues could have their staff build their profile through our portal. This made updating pricing and booking reservations as seamless as possible.

I highly recommend Mobiversal for all of your development needs.
