Business Requirements

As Contentsquare were growing, they were slowly moving away from a standard ecommerce website that was solely focused on online purchases, to a primarily lead generation website, it needed a lot of content pages to showcase and advertise their unique service.

Contentsquare also wanted the ability to generate landing pages quickly and easily for different advertising campaigns, as well as update their portfolio regularly. For these reasons it made sense for WordPress to be the engine behind the majority of the site.

They wanted their pricing structure to be made clearer on the new website. In addition, the website needed to integrate with their internal core product system so that registrations could be made and paid for online.

Contentsquare wanted a new website built bespoke to their needs so that they could have the whole functionality that they need to fully service their users.

They needed reliable and honest advice, communication and quick response times.

Contentsquare had experience with previous agencies and in-house teams that could not provide results and OMTech were tasked with helping them to regain the performance of the website which their business had come to rely on.

The Results

The result was a successful configuration of WordPress, taking the strengths of the CMS to form a website that had great content management abilities as well as high performance functionality.

Contentsquare’ existing order processes were maintained and untouched in the back-end, but the front-end had been completely redeveloped to focus more on lead generation as requested by the client.

The new website was a familiar, but improved experience for the website’s returning user base, with cleaner product blocks and improved navigation and filtering.

In the admin panel we created custom post types for case studies and products to make them easy to manage and update.

The biggest improvement that was made from a front-end perspective was the mobile experience. The original website was not up to standard for mobile devices so we made this a priority, again putting a lot of focus on the navigation.

One of the main issues we’ve fix was the speed performance of the website, in preparation for the Core Web Vitals algorithm update. There were also a number of on-page content issues; nearly 1/3 of all of the pages were missing a main heading (H1) which we’ve added and fixed.

There are 46 individual Wildlife Trusts, each of which is a place-based independent charity with its own legal identity, formed by groups of people getting together and working with others to make a positive difference to wildlife and future generations, starting where they live and work.

Business Requirements

The Wildlife Trusts website was created to increase people’s awareness and understanding of the natural worldand deepening people’s relationship with itas well as encouraging the site visitors to sign up and get involved in becoming a member in a wildlife trust that is close to their heart.

The Wildlife Trusts requested to create an attractive, informative and accessible website. The website should provide relevant information for volunteers, potential members and more stakeholders.

The Wildlife Trusts' online presence was not aligned with its business ambitions. Its separate donation site faced limitations through an old agency owned CMS, which was not meeting The Wildlife Trusts' needs.

We were selected to develop both the main Wildlife Trusts’ssite as well as the donations site. To avoid any potential growth issues and to allow The Wildlife Trusts to own its website outright, we selected Drupal for the development to deliver a scalable, future proof solution. The design of the site is clean and highly intuitive ensuring a flawless visitor experience. We needed to fully integrate The Wildlife Trusts’ social media channels and Disqus to enhance content sharing where possible, which has been particularly effective for its SEO ranking.

OMTech was commissioned to produce a user-friendly website which successfully caters for and engages the target audiences.

The Results

The website was designed to be completely responsive, research and data showed us that a large portion of users visited the website on mobile phones so keeping the experience consistent across all devices was factored in from the very beginning.

The donation process was thoroughly overhauled and is now state of the art. To make the whole journey much simpler for the potential donor, each step is now broken down into bite size chunks, the customer is lead through a simple journey that ends up with them placing a donation to the trust of their choice.

By upgrading the website, The Wildlife Trustshave been seeing improved engagement performanceby donors and members alike. The site users reported smoother transactions and enhance overall visitors’experience.

To ensure easy management for The Wildlife Trusts to upload new content, make changes to existing content, and remove outdated information, we have configured the DrupalCMS (Content Management System) to be very user-friendly.

As a business that is totally focused on its mobile app development, Gett needed an agency to build for them a new website that could grow with them with a responsive support team on hand to serve them and their growing customer base.

Gett came to us with the task of building a new website to improve both the front-end visual, and the SEO/performance of the site.

They were having issues with page speed and Google page scores, which were having a negative impact on organic rankings and user experience.

Gett required a solution that allowed them to have more choice in the way that they presented content, to give more variety to pages and more appropriate layouts for presenting key pieces of data.

Their website was on the .NET platform, which restricted the amount of flexibility and customization that could be added or developed to suit their growing needs. They also did not want to be tied down to the platform limitations and want more control and ownership over their website.

One of the main requirements was that all of the customers, drivers, orders and additional past data were transferred over to the new website so that the transition to the new website was as seamless as possible.

The Results

We chose WordPress as the solution for this project, as it allows full flexibility with its open-source codebase, can be expanded upon, can be developed to look exactly as the client desires and it is widely supported.

Having completed a lot of website migrations in the past allowed us to understand the data structure, export it, manipulate it into a format that was ready for WordPress mapping and import it onto the new website. This process successfully imported all customers, drivers, orders and additional past data.

Using the WordPress CMS means that Gett has full flexibility over their content and can modify or create new pages easily with the pre-styled blocks that have been developed exclusively for their brand and content needs.

We integrated the contact forms with their CRM software, SugarCRM, to allow them to easily manage new website leads, and ensure all enquiries are handled appropriately by the Gett team.

With the support of industry professionals, as well as midwives, doctors, physiotherapists and babywearing experts, CARiFiT was developed to deliver good quality, engaging programming for new parents allowing them to exercise with their child.

Business Requirements

CARiFiT approached OMTech when looking for a web design agency to design and develop their new eCommerce site. The website design itself has been strongly based on the company’s logo and branding.

CARiFiT came to us with a need for a clear and user-friendly design. They required a site with a simple shopping experience while offering a slightly different feel from the typical online shopping process. The site needed to portray the unique product they are offering.

They needed a bespoke design to portray their values and mission with a clear layout to ensure that the content remained organized and user-friendly as their original website had a bulk of information on one page making it difficult for users to find the specific content, they were interested in.

CARiFiT requested to optimise the user experience of the website, with clear and easy-to-use navigation, prominent calls-to-action, and streamlined checkout functionality. Throughout the development process, we maintained open and reliable communication with the client to ensure that we met all of their needs and requirements.

In order to meet CARiFiT’s creative and functional requirements, a Shopify based solution was proposed and implemented.

The Results

We customised the site with different features that enabled it to stand out, we added an option of sharing pages on social media, payment gateway integration and a responsive design to promote a user-friendly experience.

To fix the cluttered content issue, we created new pages. Expanding from their original website that had the bulk of their information on one page.

To track the new website traffic and measure progress, we created a new Google Analytics account. An SEO-friendly setup was also implemented for the website, to make it more accessible to search engines.

For content management we developed our own set of Shopify extensions to allow full control over the static content and make it really quick and easy for CARiFiT’s team to change all banners, images, featured products, text and links that appear on the front-end of the website themselves.

CARiFiT also commissioned a photographer to ensure that the new website had high quality images that showcased the personality of the business, and allowed potential clients to find out more about the product and philosophy behind it.

We always ensure our websites function to the best of their ability on all devices, and this site was no exception, with new mobile experience that was easy to navigate, find products and make a purchase.

The result is a visually-appealing home page displaying full-screen images, which highlights the product offering.

Business Requirements

Maths-whizz’s previous website was a Magento eCommerce solution. Although Magento is a good web platform, it ended up being too elaborate than necessary, and the manner in which it was set up made for a slow user experience.

After reviewing the site content and discussing functionality, we recommended WordPress and core PHP as a more streamlined solution to showcase the course packages that Maths-whizz had to offer.

Maths-whizz wanted a tailor-made website that would counter their previous website. Their previous website was a Magento eCommerce solution which eventually proved to be more complex and outweighed the client’s requirements, resulting in slow user experience.

Maths-whizz’s teams were way too often encountering issues when it came to adding or editing content. This was due to the way the website had been structured and set up.

The user experience was convoluted and confusing, not giving credit to the quality and edge of their courses. With little to no site optimization, this site was not ranking as it should for a brand of its stature.

The Results

In this case, a user-friendly WordPress website was the best solution for Maths-whizz. This is after we reviewed the site content as WordPress offers a more streamlined platform to showcase the course packages that Maths-whizz offers.

We implemented a caching plugin to enhance the load speed of the site. We had to work closely with the client to direct content to the right pages and create landing pages that best suit each section.

A large focus for the new website was speed and user experience, which meant creating a custom WordPress structure and theme with no unnecessary elements that could potentially slow the site down.

Finally, a specialized payment system was introduced, allowing Maths-whizz with easy click-to-pay links that allow users to quickly complete their purchase.

While applying those changes, we understood and respected the importance of preserving the original web design that Maths-whizz had created. Collaborating closely with Maths-whizz, we made sure to retain the essence and visual identity of the website design.

The project’s main aim was to achieve the right balance between respecting the existing design while introducing new features. By using the strength of WordPress and incorporating functional enhancements using core PHP, therefore optimizing performance, we strived to create a seamless user experience perfectly aligned with Maths-whizz’s vision.

Austin Gray felt that their current website was outdated, not performing well on all tech platforms (not mobile-friendly) and did not fully reflect all the services that they offered.

OMTech helped realize their vision of a website with a variety of real estate residential solutions. Austin Gray’s previous website was built on WordPress. In order to keep the interface familiar to their teams, and keep content as simple to maintain as possible, we kept that as the basis for the new build.

In addition, OMTech chose WordPress for its user-friendly CMS. This enables Austin Gray staff to easily update the website information, and regularly share company news. By utilizing WordPress, a responsive mobile site was also crafted so that it could be viewed on devices of all sizes – phones, tablets and desktop computers.

The new site was integrated with access to Austin Gray’s internal portal, which allow them to seemingly be exposed to new properties as they arrive in the market.

A readymade theme was adopted and configured based on the project’s design requirements and functionalities, while incorporating specific plugins for added features (such as SEO).

A bespoke cookie bar was implemented for users to choose which information they wish to share to comply with GDPR regulations.

To complement the professional image that the site portrayed, animated elements were carefully set up throughout to create a more dynamic experience.

Advanced search filters included location, property size, price range etc. were incorporated. These search filters improved the search functionality and made the user search experience more productive and easier to use.

Business Requirements

Furniture.co.uk needed technical solutions to solve the following challenges: aggregation of the product and stock-level data from various vendors, gathering of customer feedback to improve the loyalty program, streamline of the purchasing and delivery process, and an overall refresh of the website.

Furniture.co.uk’s requirements were for a Magento Website that would showcase their services in one clear message to their target audience. Originally, each department had a separate website so there was no consistent branding and it was very difficult to manage on different platforms.

The Furniture.co.uk teams needed a Magento site that could be managed internally and would be easy to navigate. The CMS needed to provide the flexibility to scale in the future as they implemented their plans to expand their business offerings. With Magento as the back-end of the site, we were able to do just that: brand consistency and an intuitive back-end.

Working together with Furniture.co.uk, we were able to conceptualize a brand new Magento website build that personified their position as a market leader in the furniture industry, all managed by Magento.

The Results

OMTech have built a software package that aggregates information of product and stock from various vendors for the online-store in real time.

In addition, there was another System of surveys and questionnaires, data from these surveys is combined with purchase history and search requests to create a more personalized experience.

Abandoned basket support, if there are goods in a virtual basket and no activity, a user receives a notification about their incomplete purchase.

A store content filling system, a coupon system, and a dynamic website menu for ease of use were introduced into the Magento build as well.

We used rich imagery throughout the site to give the artful look that Furniture.co.uk was looking for.

The original main site was old and static and our team updated it, adding interactive elements to make the experience immersive. For example, when a user hovers over sections, they become highlighted or make slight movements by revamping Furniture.co.uk’s website design and implementing improvements through Magento to optimize its performance, the user experience was enhanced to attract more customers, boosting both revenue and organic traffic.

Thanks to the improvement in user experience, Furniture.co.uk shoppers increased in number and their engagement began to rise as well. The goals for the new Magento website, to encourage users to spend more time on the site and to make a purchase, were achieved as users seemed to be happier to stick around.

Once the new site was up and running, the following metrics were dramatically improved

Business Requirements

Visit Jersey’s main goal for their website was to update their brand to be more accessible while maintaining the professional demeanor they are known for. Naturally, they were looking for better conversions and lead generation, but Visit Jersey were also looking to improve their navigation and to simplify users’ ability to quickly obtain the information they’re looking for.

They had unique problems to solve whilst finding the right balance to solve these problems, this was done by creating a visually striking website that showcases the unique appeal of all attractions of Jersey. Emphasis was on developing an enhanced user journey to drive bookings.

Jersey is admired by over 20 million visitors each year and houses many exciting attractions. With such a broad range across so many attractions, the Visit Jersey website needs to present a lot of information in an exciting and informative way. Doing so without losing the impact of the many attractions or confusing customers presented a challenge that the old website no longer entirely fulfilled, with many bookings lost due to confusion or functionality issues.

OMTech was enlisted to develop a compelling user experience that would harness the excitement of planning a visit to Jersey and drive bookings.

The Results

One significant challenge for Visit Jersey was that they wanted to modernize their website with a friendlier approach while still maintaining the crucial “trust” factor that their clients expect. An overly flashy design might catch the eye, but might alienate people who are looking to put their entire holiday planning into Visit Jersey’s hands. The end result was a balanced approach that indeed increased conversions by 20% a month starting from the time the revamped website was launched.

This balanced approach helped resolve another issue Visit Jersey had. They have a lot of information to share and their new site needed to educate the users with all of this information without immediately overwhelming them. Visiting an attraction’s website should be part of what builds that excitement for a day trip or holiday. Great imagery, appealing tone of voice, visual cues, and ways to plan a visit all contribute to that experience, but only if they work well for the user, who will soon lose faith and abandon a purchase if the website feels clunky or doesn’t appear to be in full working order. Through a combination of advanced programming capabilities and testing, we found ways to remove these obstacles and guarantee visits to the website are a successful user-friendly experience across all devices. An improvement in the time visitors spend on the site, page views and conversion rates are assured.

While there is some overlap in the audiences that go to the Jersey attractions, there are variations in demographic that have differing expectations from the website.

We conducted a survey to gain greater insight into who exactly the various stakeholders of the project were and the likely requirements of each profile. From here we worked those requirements into an optimized site structure, with minimal copy and all the visual cues needed to ensure each of those profiles had a distinct user journey and that branding was clear and appealing. These carefully planned pathways provide the customer with all the information and reinforcement required to make a decision and convert their visit to ticket purchase.

Since 1995, the Roberts family has been producing world-class English sparkling wine in Sussex, focusing on quality and sustainability from grape to glass.

It began with a pioneering vision nearly 30 years ago: to create exceptional sparkling wine in the heart of Sussex, that would be celebrated around the world. Many thought it couldn’t be done, but they were set to put English winemaking on the global stage.

Business Requirements

Ridgeview needed a website that was fit for purpose, unlike their old website which they were unable to make big development changes too. Their key goals were to improve the customer experience through better navigation and to have a website that better represented their brand.

Ridgeview enlisted the bespoke web development expertise of OMTech to transform their former basic website into a more professional part of their thriving business.

The website was to become an advanced sales and marketing platform. Ridgeview requested additional functionality options within the website’s admin panel that are not usually found in off-the-peg ecommerce websites.

The Results

Our developers found bespoke solutions to manage complex scenarios, such as the ability to switch wine tours after purchase, or to purchase as a gift. Ridgeview is now a fantastic example of the bespoke web development solutions created by OMTech, with ecommerce conversion rate from organic traffic increased 16.5% since the launch of the new website.

Perhaps the most important feature of this website is the ability of users to easily find exactly the type of wine that suits them.

In order to achieve this, our developers systematically broke down each scenario that a visitor to the website might choose for searching, to ensure the filtering process was intuitive and logical. Searches always produce a good match to explore further, and visitor time on site statistics prove that the experience works very well.

We’ve built a new simplified site map and have decided on imagery strong usage. The most significant design choice was the use of photography. This paved the way for the new web design, echoing the look and feel of the brand.

Ridgeview team supplied a new information architecture, where the CTO of this project, worked together with the Ridgeview team to make sure no opportunity is missed.

A huge win that came out of the discovery phase was the opportunity for Ridgeview to increase bookings and revenue.

It was identified that bulk bookings are very valuable to the business. Therefore, a suggestion was made to simply place a parent page called ‘Groups’ onto the main navigation bar. This enhanced visibility of bulk bookings that a user can purchase, such as Corporate Away Days, Venue hire or Educational Purposes.

Once all the final emends of the design were signed off, it was time for development using the following tech stack:

  • PHP, HTML, CSS, JS
  • WordPress
  • Marvel for prototyping
  • VSCode for Editor

The new website is now live with an immersive design that reflects the onsite experience from the get-go! Not to mention, the Team at Ridgeview have complete control over their site, where they can create new pages for campaigns, run promotions, and carry out A/B tests for better conversions.

They started on Amazon and eBay (where they still operate today), and their customer satisfaction scores continue to stay at 99.8%. They are committed to sourcing stylish and dependable products that are fantastic value for money, helping their customers transform houses into homes.

Business Requirements

Rinkit attracts 1,000,000+ unique users annually. With that amount of traffic, every single website improvement becomes a complex project. In order to delight customers, increase impact and grow their organization.

Rinkit needs to constantly execute necessary development work as well as improve the user experience across its online presence.

The current website is tricky to navigate, which needs to be improved. The website didn’t create up-sell opportunities which needed to be added as well.

The site had to be integrated with their Microsoft Dynamics AX system which handled all of their products and customer information.

We found many hidden, legacy pages on the Rinkit site that made it challenging to update and maintain and that were negatively impacting page speed. We opted to consolidate these pages, removing any that weren’t required, to create a faster-loading website and a much simpler sitemap that’s easier to navigate.

Rinkit requested the Shopify website to showcase their extensive and eye-catching product range and put their brand story at the forefront. They were interested in a sleek and modern design.

The Results

In the initial stages, our developers had to create an environment that navigated the difficulties with Shopify, in order to build the website. Once established, they had the creative freedom to try out new methods and build the site natively. This also gave the team more control over the types of images, text blocks, and other fundamental features, to create a truly bespoke website rather than relying on a Shopify theme.

OMTech evaluated the required steps and kicked the project off with a diverse project team. The integrations OMTech have generated demand and revenue for Rinkit products and services.

The website is now geared towards cross-selling and product bundling, with the objective of increasing the basket value as well as boosting social engagement.

We introduced clear and clickable easy access navigation and tabs to keep content above the fold.

Overall, the number of sales online via mobile and tablet surpass those of desktop devices. Our responsive web design and development (mobile first) approach allowed us to focus on presenting a native style experience to those customers on portable devices. This not only provides them with a better UX, but also results in a higher conversion rate and increased revenue.

A clean user interface was created with each element easily distinguishable from the next. This makes for an intuitive and stimulating user experience to facilitate sales. With features such as streamlined checkout page optimization, it also ensured Rinkit maximized its conversion opportunities.

Study Active have combined the best available courses to accelerate the personal trainer career. With these course packages, the personal trainer can learn and specialize in more advanced nutrition & physiology to push their own clients further.

Business Requirements

Study Active has changed management and has been eager to excel in the online area. However, without having done any major update to their old website, their technology environment became outdated and error-prone.

The Key objectives for the project were to design and develop a state-of-the-art website with a smooth and optimized user experience. Elevate the Study Active brand with a simple yet impactful design. Build an intuitive top-level navigation that funnels visitors to their desired goals. Keep the focus of the website on personal training using imagery, video and clear messaging. Use interactive features and image-led designs to reflect the Study Active’s impact and values. Ensure that the website is fully responsive and functions across key browsers. Customize the CMS to ensure that the website can be easily edited and updated.

The Results

OMTech was hired to update the Study Active entire website in order to enable the running of all the necessary functionality. By updating their entire web presence, OMTech introduced a user-centric approach to creating seamless user journeys.

OMTech migrated and overhauled the existing website to harness the power of sophisticated functionalities such as single sign-on and data analytics. One of the overarching goals, however, was to foster efficient updating in the future. Therefore, our developers created synergies wherever possible and created an intuitive user interface as well as a backend to simplify all processes.

Keeping Shopify as the engine behind the site, provided a flexible solution that would facilitate ease of use and growth. Its combination of out-of-the-box B2B suite functionality together with customer-specific user journeys for their different customer types and rest API capability to integrate with their in-house CRM were but a few reasons why this was the right solution.

We created a bespoke system and theme tailored for the client. This strategic intervention allowed Study Active to fully optimize Shopify while ensuring an editable and user-friendly front end for the updated website.

Study Active outlined their desired plugins in the initial brief as Shopify’s Ultimate Search and Filter app, Feefo Reviews, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Klarna. We incorporated these into the website, offering a better customer experience by providing buyers with a choice of payment options and smoother website operations.

Doing so often reduces the number of abandoned carts and increases conversion rates. Furthermore, the inclusion of Feefo Reviews further reinforces customers’ trust and confidence in Study Active’s offering and their brand as a whole.

This is especially important when you consider the average cart abandonment rate is 69.99%, according to Baymard Institute. By putting convenience at the forefront by implementing these features, the user is confronted with fewer obstacles, and is more likely to make a purchase.

Newman & Bright is a Manchester based manufacturer of upholstered seating. They are experts in the production of fabric and leather sofas; their small workshop is staffed by time served craftsmen and their models are made from locally sourced fillings and timber frames. As one of the few remaining bespoke sofa manufacturers in the North West they can tailor their sofas to their customers' needs and are small enough to give genuine care and attention to individual orders.

Business Requirements

As part of a wider brand refresh and marketing strategy, Newman & Bright reached out to a variety of agencies who pitched for implementing and managing a new, state-of-the-art website with an uplifted look and feel. At the end of this process, we were delighted to be selected as Newman & Bright’ agency of choice! Newman & Bright felt that their website’s UX and performance could be optimized, and wanted more emphasis to be placed on their brand identity and values. They also wanted to priorities the improvement of bounce rates, dwell times and overall traffic. The main objective for the new website was to capture the company’s rich British history and heritage while making it stand out amongst competitors with strong UX, high performance and engaging, interactive features. Newman & Bright were keen for their new website to be built on a secure, sustainable and future proof platform. We decided that the best way to achieve this would be to build the site on Magento 2. As an open source CMS, we were able to custom code the back end in order to tailor it to Newman & Bright’ needs and ensure that it is as intuitive and easy to use as possible.

A priority for this project from the beginning was to ensure that Newman & Bright’ new website was built with a full understanding of the company’s objectives and to ensure that it satisfied the needs of its many stakeholders and target audiences. While the website would primarily need to serve their customers, it also needed to cater to a range of users including potential stockiest and career applicants.

The Results

Once we had created Newman & Bright’s new brand website, we conducted testing on a variety of different products and software to iron out any issues and to ensure the user journey was as beautifully smooth as possible – just like Newman & Bright’s sofas!

The Newman & Bright new website has been a resounding success. It has helped to reinvigorate their online presence, while significantly improving the user experience for the site’s visitors as shown below:

  • Bounce rate decreased by 15% on desktop and 12% on mobile
  • Single page visit sessions decreased by 45% across the site
  • Number of pages per session increased from 1.57 to 2.44 across the site
  • Target branded keywords ranking within top 5 results on Google

The final result incorporated all the clients had asked for – and more; a slick, modern and visual website that showcased their stunning sofas range to their greatest advantage, all while channeling core brand values.

Unicycle.com manufactures and designs unicycles, unicycles parts, unicycles accessories and even modern days Penny Farthings (!). Traditionally, the company was a wholesaler who sold to various retailers around the world. 

The Objective

Unicycle.com needed a solution for lower-quantity sales. By effectively being able to sell through their website, they’d be able to free up their sales team’s time to focus on larger quantity orders.

Make no mistake though, Unicycle.com are still firmly a B2B brand, and the website also needed to clearly represent that. In addition they wanted to make sure their website communicated exactly what they do and who their target market would be.

Unicycle.com needed a website that could showcase their extensive product catalogue. We saw that Magento would allow Unicycle.com Products to display their hundreds of products easier than their previous WordPress website. A Magento ecommerce store would better facilitate switching products out and adding new products.

Due to the original setup of Unicycle.com’s website, they were not able to rank very high via SEO as many of the product pages were missing key SEO information that would help potential customers find them. We solved this problem by adding the necessary keywords to boost performance within various search engines. This allowed for their products to be easily found by potential customers and Unicycle.com to see an increase in sales.
