Under the direction of John M. Rivers, Jr., Rivers Enterprises offers expertise in areas of property development, investment strategies, leasing and build-to-suit projects. Rivers Enterprises, Inc. was established by Rivers, following the 1987 sale of his family's business, WCSC, Inc., one of South Carolina's pioneer communications companies. With the newly formed Rivers Enterprises, Rivers initiated several key real estate development projects, including The Chattooga Club resort in the western NC mountains; a Class A office building which evolved into Charleston Gateway Center; the mixed-use Harbor Walk facility; Cainhoy Industrial Park; and Seaside Plantation land holding company/Bees Resources as well as residential development Riverwood in Gastonia, N.C.
