Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
GoodFirms has been great.

Not only have we got a fantastic featured profile on their website, but it even seems to be helping with our Google search engine results.

For instance, when customers search for us through Google, our Google Business Profile also references the number of reviews we have on GoodFirms. Therefore, it’s good to know that Google is highlighting our GoodFirms performance too.
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Our company specializes in web design and development services, whilst we also have an arm of the company which deals specifically with web applications (i.e. think Spotify and Social Networks, etc.)

My role in the company varies quite often from day-to-day. As I’m mostly in charge of finance, but at the same time, I’ll look over every web design project and also get involved in the coding aspect of more complex projects too.

I come from a full-stack developer background, therefore, it’s easy for me to understand how much time a task might take and what skills are required to achieve it. Therefore, I’m able to quickly delegate this to the relevant person on our team, depending on the task at hand — this is where my managerial side comes in.
What is the story behind starting this company?
We’re a fairly new company that opened mid-2020 during the pandemic. However, we only started our sales process in August 2020 after fully setting things up.
I’ve worked in agencies and as a freelancer in the past, but the pandemic sent me a lot of work, which I just couldn’t handle alone. That’s when our company was born.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
A fully-remote in-house team throughout London/UK.
We’ve tried outsourcing to freelancers in the past, but it’s really hard to manage them.

I’m a big fan of progression and investing in people, therefore, having someone who’s temporarily working for us isn’t a great return on investment for our business.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
Primarily, we build bespoke WordPress websites from scratch.
This allows us to not only showcase the client’s brand but also means we code a pixel-perfect design.

For example, when our websites scale down responsively, there are no jagged cuts to different device sizes — it’s a smooth transition.

Furthermore, every project is run by our in-house SEO when it comes to building, just so we can build with SEO in mind, from the get go — meaning that our websites perform pretty well on search engines.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
In terms of repetitive customer ratios, 4:5 customers usually return for further work, which is great to see.

Usually, this work is for further website development changes, digital marketing (Google Ads and SEO, etc.), and sometimes even new websites altogether.
We don’t have a niche for industries we work with, however, the property, music and education industries have been popular so far, in terms of our client base.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
  • Custom WordPress web design/development
  • Very bespoke website changes/functionality
  • Web applications
  • A mix of Google Ads & SEO
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We go above and beyond when it comes to customer satisfaction. Every customer gets a direct line to the director in case of any emergency, 24/7, 365.
All of our customers have been extremely pleased with what we provide, therefore, I’d like to say 100% thus far.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Mentioned above (emergency support number). Other than that, clients can email us and we’ll complete support tasks ASAP in order to keep the client happy.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We either split the payment into 33%, going from milestone to milestone, or 50%, depending on the customer.

This is usually split into the following milestones: web design, web development, and website launch.

When it comes to website changes to existing websites, we charge on a per-feature payment model.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Usually, a bespoke 5–10 page bespoke information website costs £4,000 upwards, depending on specifications.

We’ve had quick mini-site projects which take only 1-day to complete too, however, we charge our day-rate which is £520.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
£520 (mini-site) – £7,000 (bespoke WordPress site).
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
I like a small team, as it allows me to connect with each of them on a more individual level. Therefore, I’d like us to stick to a maximum of 10–12 staff.
In terms of projects, we’d like to see ourselves competing for more public-sector tenders by then. We’ve already got some in the pipeline, however, we want to be at a position where we’re working with 4–5 tenders at the same time (in ten years).
