Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Sannacode was founded by Anna Karmazina (CEO) and Sergey Shcherbanenko (CTO), IT managers with more than 11 and 15 years of experience in commercial IT R&D accordingly. Both of us have Master degrees in Computer Science education. We went through all the steps growing in our careers, from trainees to managers. Our company has experience in hardware development, highly experienced in software development and connecting it to IoT. Since started in 2013, we built an amazing team with wide skills doing web and mobile full-cycle products creation, from idea vision to product release and further updates/support. Also, we provide separate services such as QA&Testing, UI/UX/Graphical Design, just Development or PM, Business Analysis, etc. Sannacode does sports and automotive, retail and FMCG platforms, dating apps, warehouse platforms and CRMs and more.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
After years of working for outsourcing corporations and big clients, we saw low flexibility with lots of bureaucracy on both business sides and decided to create our own company with principles of flexibility, trust, collaboration and highly-skilled teams to make the process of SW (software) and HW (hardware) pleasurable and the most resultful for all the stakeholders. We think we reached the goal and permanently improving ourselves, processes, growing the business. Mostly our clients find us through the references of their different sources and stay with us for all the time of their products creation. We love long-term relations and appreciate our clients.
What are your company’s business model-in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We work on an in-house team and also as third-party vendors/ outsourcing models.
How is your business model beneficial from a value-added perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Firstly, we are analyzing customer needs and after getting complex of knowledge about customer problems, ideas and wishes/vision, we propose the most suitable model describing its benefits and possible minuses. So, our main advantage is that we are fully oriented on the customer. We don’t impose our client’s one possible model, but try to discuss with them which model to choose.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
We have good experience in different industries and areas like automotive, healthcare, education, social, e-commerce, wearable, game, entertainment etc. Yes, our customers are repetitive. Most of our clients are cooperating with us on several projects and are continuous in numbers. They often return to us with another work to do after previous projects are finished. We always try to work with our customers using win-win model. We consider them as our partners, for whom we are doing the best and not only things which are required. Very often we get new clients because of the recommendation to us by our current or previous clients. We are sure that such additional channel of getting customers proves our capability. Moreover, it shows us we are on the right way.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a web app.
The scope of requirements for implementation, duration of the client’s approval of interim results and quantity & level of the team along with the budget.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
It is entirely depended upon project requirements. So, it is hard to say the exact duration or even range.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
The complexity of the project and need to resolve tasks, the business model of the project, technical features, security, easy-to-optimize parameters and ease of development for the main features, system workload (for example: a maximum number of requests per second) and the amount & type of data with what it should work. In addition, time frame and app budget also influence the choice of platform.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in the development of your web apps?
Do you offer website design templates or customized website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
As we are working in general with complicated projects, design templates don’t make sense. Hence, we offer customized website design as design templates mostly. Almost for all our web apps we always do responsive design. We cannot make the responsive design just in case when the desktop design is very simple and easy for rebuilding to make web app responsive.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Jumla, Drupal etc)?
If choosing from given row, we prefer WordPress and Drupal. For simple websites we use WordPress. For web projects with average complexity we use OctoberCMS and for big projects, we develop custom systems for content management.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
Yes, of course. We provide free maintenance for all our projects for 6 months after launching, which means we fix our bugs if there are any. But developing new features is not included into this maintenance as same as bug-fixing, in case if the third party made any changes to the project after us (because it comes under the paid services). Also, we take ready projects for maintenance, usually on the time & material basis.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
Project requirements, requirements to the technologies, needed the level of developers (if there are such requests), required types of work (for example: business analysis, design, testing and project management are to be provided from our side), the terms of development. And if the project seems very interesting to us, we are ready to reduce the actual cost.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Mostly we are working on a time&material model (we make rough estimations for each task/module and work, reporting hours spent for them and spent reported hours are paid). But sometimes when the project is very well documented, we work on a fixed scope&price model (we estimate tasks/modules/the whole project) and doing it within estimated & agreed time&budget(If there any change requests by the clients- they are estimated and clients need to pay additional charges for the changes required).
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we take in such projects. Our minimum requirement for the budget is $2000 (with according scope of the work).
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
Our price range for this year is $10000-$350000.
