Scalan Labs was founded since we saw a gap in the talent pool especially niche skills. The technology skill gap is real and it has been estimated that the IT industry has a 21% skill gap in the US alone. Though every IT services company has been trying to reskill their employees to address this skill gap, so far it hasn’t been successful. With PMO/Delivery centers in India, we are trying to bridge the talent gap in the US market.

The communication was really good. There was no instance our project meetings were canceled or postponed to non-availability of developers. We used Slack and had meetings 2–3 times a week during the entire course of project. They topped on communication, quality of work, timelines and cooperation.

We slipped couple of delivery schedule, perhaps it's on us, as we made changes to the work flow. However, we felt they should be bit proactive in terms of letting us know about the delays upfront. Though this did not affect the project or quality of work, this could be one area they could improve on.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?
The engagement we had primarily with Scalan Labs was to build native iOS and Android app for productivity / health monitor app for NHS staff in UK. The app had both simpler & complex features to be adapted and some of them was not part of original requirements. However, Scalans team of mobile developers comfortably opened to our ideas and integrated with ease an without any hesitation. They were very open right from the beginning and perhaps we liked the transparency/ project management style with them. They were responsive at all times, and the team is on top of things through out the project.
What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?
During our project we did not encounter any paramount issues. Perhaps, one area they could improve is being proactive in letting us know about their thoughts about any value add features. Some of them we included in second release, perhaps that could have been added earlier, if communication was right. Never the less, it's not something related to results. We'll come back for more.
