The Client

A leading European universal commercial bank with diversified businesses in numerous countries, striving to completely revamp its ecosystem data handling processes.

The Challenge

The Client faced a problem of storing large volumes of different kinds of data in one place, which hindered the process of analytical insights generation. The fact that some data sources could enter in a streaming way added even more complexity. There was a clear need to develop a part of the data warehouse. Mandatory condition of the project was processing close to real time.

The Solution

The project was a crucial piece of a larger scale complex imitative - creation and maintenance of a huge data lake ecosystem, which was intended to make structured analysis of whole bank data possible. It was in the middle of the applications chain and its main purpose was to perform intermediate data persistence for its further manipulations.

Nrt stands for "near-real-time", so it's highly efficient YARN-based software that received data from message-broker (Apache Kafka) and saved it to a NoSQL database (Apache HBase), checked data integrity and quality, and communicated with neighborhood applications.

The Impact

The Client received a highly efficient tool for working with analytics.

Profound and complex optimization of the system helped to substantially increase the performance, greatly exceeding the requirements, initially stated by the Client.

The Client

A leading European financial services provider present in more than 20 countries, seeking to streamline its operations with the help of enhanced
data warehouse.

The Challenge

With volumes of data exponentially increasing, companies begin to struggle with managing numerous data sources and isolated data storages. Increasing complexity caused by the expansion of the ecosystem of the Client, made aggregation and usage of data by data researchers and analyst challenging. To solve this problem a development and implementation of unified data warehouse was required.

The Solution

The goal of the project was to build a data warehouse using Data Vault 2.0 methodology on the MPP Greenplum. Its core was a complicated ETL pipeline, based on the Apache Airflow with microservices based control mechanism and Apache Kafka as a data bus.

Main tasks of the pipeline were data transformation, preparation for the transmission and scheduling. As for microservices, their main goal was to transmit data from numerous source to the levels of the warehouse,  in order to maintain distributed transactions and control the data portion loading.

The Impact

With the help of the solution, the Client could easily handle different kinds of complicated analytical requests and provide this information to their analytical BI system.

One of the biggest requirements for our team was to create the system with high level of scalability and availability of the storage mechanism.

Transportation & Logistics

The Client

A large European logistics company (NDA), seeking to optimize the freight management and reduce transportation costs.

The Challenge

Existing dedicated logistics control systems, albeit fully functional and convenient, are mostly focused on the needs of a specific group of users (carriers, managers of logistics centers or forwarders). Decentralization of management systems and fragmentation of data on each side hinders the overall efficiency and productivity of operations management in logistics.

The Solution

Freight management platform combined mobile Android and iOS applications for carriers and web service for logistics managers and forwarders. The developed solution allowed users to:

  • plan and control utilization of the logistics center;
  • inform users about identified opportunities for a quick deployment of cargo;
  • plan and adjust routes, based on the road situation;
  • exchange service messages and receive notifications;
  • use OCR for scanning delivery documents, IDs and passports;
  • control document flow and loading/unloading scenarios;
  • calculate KPI on an individual level for each driver and logistics center
  • benefit from Big Data log analytics.

The Impact

Implementation of this solution helped the Client to redesign route planning activities and decrease idle time. As a result, the company was able to optimize logistics costs and improve productivity of all groups of users.

The Client

Sanofi, a multinational pharmaceutical and healthcare company, willing to improve the efficiency of operations through Salesforce customization.

The Challenge

To improve managing turnover, logistics processes, as well as the distribution of products and tracking sales a full customization of Salesforce was required. Capabilities of Client’s existing system were insufficient for unifying more than 15 subsystems and uniting mobile and desktop solutions.

The Solution

SENLA’s team replaced the outdated existing system that had limited visual customization capabilities. The newly developed custom solution had greatly improved usability and allowed easier and faster expansion of functionality.

The core task was to create a flexible system that would incorporate more than 15 subsystems with a single logic and uniform style. This enabled the unification of mobile and web systems’ functionality into a single desktop solution.

The new system also enhanced the planning and controlling operations with advanced reporting features. Users now were able to create reports in form of custom tables with filtering and automatic linking between tasks for administrators, marketing and sales specialists..

The Impact

“The unification of subsystems, advanced planning, controlling and reporting features has greatly boosted the productivity. Our users were pleased with a much lower learning curve and increased speed of operations execution.“

The Client

AbbVie, a global, research-based biopharmaceutical company, seeking to improve productivity through Salesforce customization.

The Challenge

Effectively managing a global network of employees that are responsible for the supply of products becomes ever more challenging. The growing number of integrated tools, data storage locations and  meetings aggravate the problem. While the most advanced CRM systems are capable of taking a call, fine-tuning the system requires scarce IT talents, capable and experienced developers with both technical expertise and business acumen.

The Solution

We created a centralized system for storing and scheduling meetings of the company’s employees and customers with the possibility of processing the results and provide users with forecasts. The system simplified the process of storing and monitoring the information about customers.

Our team also developed a reporting system with an option to segment the data by regions, employees, and business units. A flexible Salesforce based data model was implemented to store all the entities of the Client’s business.

Users received a convenient tool in which they could plan their schedules, make appointments, enter meeting results, actual or planned sales figures.

The Impact

After the implementation of the system, Client’s managers were able to better monitor the performance, and benchmark indicators.

“We enjoyed the improved experience and productivity of our users due to the elimination of fragmented operations and data storage locations.”

The Client:

Schlumberger, the world's leading provider of technology for reservoir characterization, drilling, production, and processing to a global energy industry.

The Challenge:

The Client failed to fully automate the process of identifying a large number of parts with a small visual difference by utilizing 3rd part instruments and solutions, available on the market. Costly attempts to incorporate big brands 3D scanners into the process were futile due to inadequate time characteristics. A custom hardware and software complex was required.

The Solution:

Building upon prior experience in this field, SENLA team started working on the MVP. We were able to exceed the expectations and requirement of the Client.

In just 10 seconds our module was able not only to accurately scan but also correctly codify and stamp a detail. The machine analyzed and marked similar parts in stock with the help of three digital cameras and electronic scales. The AI-enhanced system conducted recognition of scanned and weighted objects in order to check the correspondence to the standardized units with prerecorded detailed information in the database.

The Impact:

“The designed system with WMS integration and maintained database helped us prepare object description, operate offline and instantly recognize objects. We were particularly pleased with a build-in scaling up potential of the complex.”

The Challenge

The Client is an insurance SaaS company. Today, its solutions incorporate the assets of more than 500 insurance carriers to optimize the workflows of 300,000+ producers nationwide, with the monthly submission of over 50,000 agent contracts. All these large volumes of data and documents of various types (contracts, lists of regular and potential clients, client information) must be safely stored, easily found, and handed during communication of insurance agents with customers.

The Solution

We developed a custom CRM system and mobile Android/iOS applications that enabled:

  • automatical loading of document packages required for a particular customer;
  • receiving data about the health of the citizen (i.e., integration with medical databases) when concluding an insurance contract;
  • devices’ geo-location tracking to determine in which state the contract was signed;
  • possibility to add the signature to documents by client’s voice / finger / location.
  • a smart organizer, a scheduler, and a calendar that worked as a whole and tracked the whole chain of correspondence, notifying the insurance agent so that they could react in time to certain events.
