I am working as Business head in SigmaTech Info Solution, and my role is to enhance and to manage the current business of the company, I manage current business status and satisfaction level of existing clients, also keep my eyes on the market to keep our team updated with new technologies and to maintain our position in the market.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile application.
It completely depends on the features or functionality, you want to have in the app, suppose I want to have an app that would have a chat feature, and 4 screens so we need to calculate the overall time needed to develop and integrate these features.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile application?
In the process of developing back end or front end for a mobile app, firstly we need to analyze features that need to be implemented.
What is your company’s business model– in-house team or third party vendors / outsourcing?
We have 60 members mobile app development team in-house and do not outsource any project.
How is your business model beneficial, from a value addition perspective to your clients as compared to other companies' models?
We don't ask for a pre-payment. Payment always goes after a real work demonstration. This model is safe for the client because his own pocket is, technically, acts as an escrow account. All developers work in the same office which makes development process to be reliable. Finally, we use our own project management system and dedicated servers for storing content, which makes our work secure.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
Usually, our customers decide which platform to develop an app for because it is their business and we help them to reach their goals. But we recommend identifying the target audience for the app, how people will use our app.
Which platform do you suggest your clients, to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
As we know that Android platform has bigger audience but less revenue per user and iOS is vis-a-versa so if you plan to build a paid app , it's better to go with iOS, and if you are planning to implement monetization in your app than it's better to go with Android.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Hybrid platform is cheaper but hard to expand. And native is more expensive but it's expandable, so we always suggest to go with Native mobile apps.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
It completely depends on the features, you want to implement in the app.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
Usually, we would prefer to work Pay per milestones, but are always open to working on Client payment terms.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we generally consider projects that are above $2000.
What was the cost bracket of mobile app projects your organization did in 2015?
The cost of projects that we did in 2015 varied from $2k to $100k+.
Which business model do you suggest your clients use to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
We create applications that are part of some services and they are not supposed to generate revenue from itself.
