Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Softengi is a global IT service provider with 1000+ projects in portfolio and 20 years of development experience. We create complex high load systems, web/mobile software as well as advanced IoT/XR/AI solutions for businesses. Our company has been listed among the top 100 IT service providers by IAOP (International Association of Outsourcing Professionals) 6 years in a row and is regularly included in the top 15 AI/XR/IoT developers of the world by rating platforms.

Our team consists of 300+ enthusiasts who are certified architects, software & hardware engineers, project managers, business analysts, quality assurance experts, DevOps engineers, and even game designers.

What is the story behind starting this company?
We started back in 1995 as a common ICT company, one of the very first in the Ukrainian market. We dreamt big, worked hard, and advanced fast. Pretty soon, we evolved into a full-scale independent company called Softengi, which became a part of the Intecracy Group consortium. Our confidence raised and the intention to succeed strengthened, but not without a hint of uncertainty. Advancing from mere outsourcing services to Digital Transformation consulting, we began to think differently… We realized that continually evolving digital technologies are an inexhaustible source of changes for the better.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third-party vendors/ outsourcing?
The majority of our clients choose the outsourcing model simply because it is more convenient and cost-effective at the moment. Numerous popular tools and methodologies, such as Jira, Trello, GitHub, Scrum, etc. created for seamless project management, made outsourcing transparent and efficient.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We know how to build long-term relationships with our clients and support them on their way to digital transformation to maximize their growth. It’s a methodological, systematic approach to digital transformation consulting which differentiates us from our competitors.

We are experts in building the process of digital transformation for any business which presupposes efficient operations, continuous risks assessment, and their mitigation, implementation, and measurement of the processes’ quality with reliable metrics. We establish a technological partnership with our clients and help them reach their goals.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
It’s difficult to measure the modern world using the terms that were created decades before. In my opinion, there are no such industries as “telco” or “retail” anymore, dynamic companies transform quickly and exist on the crossroads of business sectors.

What industries do we generally cater to? Our clients are all the businesses that use the social responsibility principle as their core, aim to reach global growth and minimize the number of threats for humanity regardless of the industry. We also partner with businesses that measure their success by the quality of the relationships with their own clients. Our customers work with fundamental scientific notions, such as biotech, MedTech, machinery for example. From a long-term perspective, these are the businesses that will grow exponentially, and we want to help them to do it using digital transformation consulting services.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
The majority of our clients approach us with digital consulting requests. This request leads to the creation of the custom digitalization roadmap which most often includes high load complex systems development, web & mobile software development as well as the creation of custom  AI/IoT/XR solutions.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
During the due diligence, 90% of our potential customers contact our previous clients for referrals. It’s one of our core sales & marketing tools: we want to introduce our philosophy to new clients before they sign a contract. Reference meetings and reference calls are, in my mind, a hallmark of a high customer satisfaction rate.

As for the metrics, we created a set of metrics that help us to understand the satisfaction rate of any client at each stage of the consulting process. More than that, metrics can change when the project is launched as new challenges may arise, new ideas can appear. For us, it’s important to synchronize the work of the clients’ team with our team and analyze the metrics in parallel to the development process. That is the only guarantee of the best results.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We don’t regard issues as problems, we regard issues as a part of project mechanics. If there is a query or an issue, it means that the overall process needs to be improved and updated. We have created our own predictive maintenance system of risks and issues that can jeopardize the project, and using this system we aim to minimize queries and issues in advance.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We use the 2 most common payment approaches fixed cost and time & material depending on the needs and the requirements of our customers. However, each project is unique and we aim to find the conditions that would fit our clients perfectly.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
I will surprise you if I say that in some cases we invest our resources to start the project. The majority of our clients are not ready to launch the maintenance and development of digital processes project without the consulting stage. We attract the most experienced specialists to create this digitalization roadmap and outline the first steps in this direction. For us, it is more important to make sure that these investments (team formation, knowledge database creation, research, analysis, etc.) benefit our client first of all. That is why the basic budget requirement does not sound well in the context of the long-term technological partnership we want to build with our clients. The minimum requirement in this sense is the desire to build a permanent process of digital transformation for a business, and it doesn’t matter what minimum budget there is at the start.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
I don’t want to reply to this question using numbers. I would like to measure the projects we cater in terms of the value we bring to our clients. Let me explain, our main goal is to enable the growth of our clients’ businesses with the help of digitalization. The growth of our clients can be measured in numbers, and it’s not only revenue increase but the capitalization of the company, for example. It also can be measured in terms of their partnership network expansion: as their clients and partners see them as the pioneers of digital transformation.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We have our market share, we occupy our distinct niche and place: this is the result of the long-term strategical development. In 10 years, the process of the digital transformation of global businesses will be more all-encompassing and rapid, therefore, the place of our company on the market of IT consulting will not change. We are the expert in the digital processes ideation, maintenance, and implementation, we provide businesses that aim to grow with the expertise and resources to do it.

One of our main assets is the knowledge we have accumulated over more than 20 years in this business, and we aim to share this knowledge.  In 10 years we plan to grow bigger, expand the network of our clients & partners, to work with more companies that understand the value of digitalization for their growth. We aim to work with the companies that see digital transformation as a core ongoing process, and in 10 years the majority of companies will follow this path.
