Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
We’re Techies, a software company in Malaysia specializing in web and mobile app developments. We believe a product should be alive but not merely exist amongst them. Also a tech passionate myself, my main role is to oversee and plan the overall strategy of the company.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Well, I and my partners have been working freelance during our working days as an employee and helped build several startups. We notice the demand for digitalization in our homeland Malaysia but without many reliable tech, people to conduct proper software development leading them to failure. We want to build workable and lovable products that do not merely exist but are born to prosper.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We keep our team in-house so that we are able to control and maintain the quality of our work. It’s very important for our team to be aligned with the same level of work consistency so we are able to manage the expected outcome of the software.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We are a young team of no-nonsense software developers eager to learn and passionate about all trending technologies. We always find creative ways but still abide by best practices to build lovable products that the people of the world want to use.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Techies have vast experience across a range of industries such as Healthcare, Logistics, Food & Beverages, Finance, Travel, Shared Services, Advertising, Education & E-commerce.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
We mainly do customized web and mobile applications as advertised on our website, but we also offer technical consultancy to our clients especially tech startups where they are struggling to find a reliable CTO in the beginning stages.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
To be honest, at the beginning stages we went through a amount of hiccups with our client’s project and often frustrate them due to our lack of experience to handle projects back then. But thanks to our client’s patience and trust towards young startups like us, we managed to gain back trust and launch their projects with success. Now, we have clients across the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Malaysia that count their projects on us.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We usually have our project managers responsible for specific projects to liaise with clients according to their urgency, either instantly or within the same day.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We would prefer to break the payment into milestones, but we do understand some companies have certain payment cycles and we have to respect that. We are very much flexible as long as payment terms are mutually agreed fair to both parties.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We used to do projects as low as $3000 but with the minimum workload, now that we’re slowly maturing with a larger team we filter potential projects that could bring in value to us.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
Our projects range from $30,000 - $200,000.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
Scaling from 2 nerds to a team of 13 tech ninjas in 2 years is out of our expectations, with the support of our trusted clients we are hoping to be one of the top software agencies in South East Asia in the coming 10 years.

Review Summary
Working with Techies App was a great experience, we managed to get a great result and built a relationship with the company which is rare. The guys did a great job and are capable.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?
Happy with the performance and think there is always room for improvement, the most important part is project management is needed with such big scale website projects, that would go a very long way for the clients but much more so for Techies App and saving time and money. A strategy is everything.

Mobile and Web development on AWS Cloud with RESTful API interfaces

I am Albert from iExpress Malaysia. I came across Techies App Technologies Sdn Bhd in 2019 and after that discussing with them on a mobile applications and web dashboard development for our courier agency services to be hosted on a public cloud. They delivered the services accordingly to the scope, timeline and quality. I am quite satisfied with their development services and especially their 'can-do' attitude towards any new technology requirement and their ability to overcome implementation challenges. I am also very impressed with their AWS cloud development and deployment capability. I will highly recommend them to everyone looking for similar services.
