Please introduce your company and your role within the company.
The company Webnexs was found in September 2015 and we’ve been catering to several client projects since then. Initially, we were two people who started the company and now we’ve expanded to a team of 10 professionals in a time period of 6 months. We have been successful in creating a strong reputation amongst our clients through our work. We provide our clients with Web Related Services such as Plugins, CRM, Email Templates etc.

I am the Managing Director of the company and through my experience in this industry; I have been successful in providing value services to our clients. I believe every company is established with the aim to address to a particular problem. My intention to start this company was to address the issue of being a company that could cater to marketing activities to promote a product or a service. One can get the software or application developed by the developer, but they can’t do the marketing for them.
What was the idea behind starting the company?
I have worked with companies where there are bugs and issues that are not addressed to for a long time, companies that don’t deliver according to the set timelines and no proper response is given to the clients from the company’s side. These were some of the points that I wanted to work on by introducing the desired level of professionalism in my company that is generally expected by the clients.
What is your company’s business model– in-house team or third party vendors / outsourcing?
We have a complete in house team and all the projects are looked at and managed by our internal team. We do not outsource any of the work.
How is your business model beneficial, from a value addition perspective, to your clients as compared to other companies' models?
I think there are a lot of companies that can provide value to the clients in the form of services that they provide. However, as a start-up the level of professionalism that we demonstrate to deal with our clients and addressing to their issues is pretty good. I feel it is important to support the clients with the issues that they have and not expect from them to understand the technologies and software being used. In that case, a company needs to be patient and deal with them with a certain level of professionalism. I believe our internal team is able to communicate well with clients on such things and address it accordingly.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
The industries that we have catered to uptil now were from different industries such as Fashion & Apparels, Automobile, Fine Arts, Food & Beverages, Hospitality, and Consumer Services.

I would say 95% of our clients have come back to us to work on a different project as well. Once they work with us, they either come back to us to work on another project or refer us to their friends and colleagues.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile application.
We generally do not commit on a project blankly, without any information. Even to address a bug we analyse the requirements properly and only then commit a time frame, because we don’t want to exceed our committed time lines. We focus a lot on analysing the requirements first and then committing on a particular time frame to finish the project.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile application?
We follow an AGILE methodology. So, we do not work on the front end and back end separately. We first prepare the wireframe and once 25% of the wireframe is done, we move to the designing phase. Once the client starts approving the designs, the front end developer converts those designs. And then, the functionality part is taken care of. The back end developer integrates the required functionalities of the website with the system. As soon as the back end and front end is done, the testing will also be done then and there itself; generally we do UAT testing.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
This is completely based on the requirements of a project. If the client wants to build a website that sells something, the admin panel has to be different; the user panel has to be different etc. However, an ecommerce platform is completely different and is one-fourth the effort as compared to other platforms. So, it mainly depends on what the specifications of the project are based on which we can select an appropriate platform.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea and why?
We try and understand the client requirements first. Generally we work on PrestaShop platform. However, if their requirements are completely different, we advise Core PHP and the platform used in that case is Symfony.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of an application?
We consider multiple factors while deciding the cost of developing an application such as the level of expertise required to dedicate for working on the project, number of hours and days taken to deliver the project, and if it’s a project where the website is already developed and only requires certain upgrades, the employees needed to dedicate for this project will be lesser and thus the prices will be quoted accordingly.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
For products, we follow a Fixed Cost model. For services, we will quote strict prices based on the project requirements which may or may not be negotiable.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Our minimum budget requirement for working on any project would be US $750.
What was the cost bracket of mobile app projects your organization did in 2015?
We have worked on different projects ranging from US $750 to US $12000.
What do you think is the future of the e-commerce industry?
E-commerce is on the rise currently. The future of developers is good. But due to a lot of crowd entering this field, it is giving rise to competition so the profit that one gets in his share will be definitely less. However, the scope is going to increase only. For which, we will have to keep improving and working on something new.
