Billie Holiday’s 1939 rendition of “Strange Fruit” remains one of the most haunting, the most courageous and the most confronting protest songs of all time.

The raw lyrics and vocals spark something in the listener; forces them sit up and pay attention. And it became a precursor to the events that ushered in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. 

‘Wild Fruit’ is our homage to the power of words to make a bold push for social change. A reminder to be wildly honest, reflective and unafraid in our presentation. Because, we are our ancestors wildest dreams.

It is in this spirit that we – two African American writers with diverse professional backgrounds – joined forces to build a new kind of agency.
