The BFC Pay app is an intuitive and trustworthy payment app based out of Bahrain. The app is one of the select few that offers the users a gateway to transfer their money, pay their bills, and avail currency exchange services. With this project, our objective was not just to create an application that was restricted to payment but also to suit the unique, evolving needs of the users. Later, both the team and the stakeholders went through key elements of the design framework to identify challenges, provide new solutions and leave room for innovation. Over the course of 2 months, we were able to develop an app that is equally usable for tech savvies and luddites.

The ICICI Careers Recruitment Chatbot uses state of the art Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing to understand user queries and provide them with the best possible responses. The Chatbot is trained to answer user queries about career opportunities with ICICI Bank. With infinite employment-related search engines in the world, Recruitment chatbot is a breath of fresh air as it serves as an up-to-date source of information about careers in ICICI.

CHALLENGES

Since the turn of digital age, there have been many employment search engines catering to job opportunities across every industry. Due to this huge information pile, a career posting with ICICI would often fail to reach its applicant.

On that note, the notion of an on the clock, response-oriented recruitment chatbot from ICICI had to take matters into its own hands. Being a relatively new service, the chatbot with the help of an explainer video needed to educate a prospective user and inturn be considered as the most lucrative option.

The bank was home to a huge customer base of 37 million users. There was no dearth in challenges.

  • To come up with a much better attempt at clarifying the objective of the chatbot contrary to a readable version of the same.
  • o help the audience access information from pan India or any corner of the world.
  • To set up an easily shareable content that quickly explains the product and its benefits in a few minutes.
  • Retain customer attention and generate interest by having users develop a strong emotional connection to the brand.

An explainer video was by far the best solution to achieve the above mentioned key targets.

  • Chatbot was directed at millennials who would rather watch a video than read content or browse on a website to find job openings.
  • A simulation of the chatbot needs to be shown so that customers are aware of the aesthetics and the functioning even before the download.
  • Establish the chatbot’s presence on Whatsapp, google assistant and Alexa.
  • The video needed to be used for investor pitching, and on the company website, e-mails or the app description page on Playstore.

Scripting

We believe that the key ingredient to a high quality video always lies in a good script.

Our creative director and scripting team tried to push all the right buttons to craft a script that delivers the correct message clearly and compellingly for the target audience, all based on the marketing goals.

The ideal target audience for recruitment chatbot were millennials. Therefore, we had to create an output that matched the expectations of the customer base.

Storyboard

We pry hard on the key elements of what makes the storyboard turn into our end goal: a cool explainer video. Frames, descriptions, voice-overs are the key elements that ultimately help a video gain prominence.

Illustration and style frames
Once the storyboard is approved by the client, we forward it to the illustrators to create the characters and the digital universe they are in. The newly created illustrations then makeup the style frame for the explainer video. We made sure the ICICI Brand Colors were used extensively in the video to maintain brand consistency with the target audience.

Animation

The style frames are then forwarded to the animators who inspect and give life to all these frames.

We believe animated explainer videos are very effective as they help to cut through the noise to capture the attention of the viewer.

Another reason why we believe our animations are perfectly capable of arousing the viewer's attention are the transitions that make the video visually appealing.

In simple words, now the ideas and the functioning of the product will finally get a context to showcase its performance.

Results

In Linkedin, the video reached a whopping 206346 people and was in fact a huge success on other social networking channels too.

Whereas in Facebook, it has reached 18.8K views within the first few weeks

Al Wukair Logistics Park - an initiative of GWC is one of their milestone projects that provides industrial workshops, storage units, showrooms, and open yards to suit the needs of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses through a single one-page contract and easy processes. Through this project, they aim to contribute to the Qatar National Vision 2030.

PayZapp is an invoicing solution by HDFC Bank which enables customers to pay, receive and request payments on the go. E-commerce and digital payments were just starting to gain popularity in India and it was the perfect time for an app like PayZapp.

Challenges

The problem was that the concept of digital payments and mobile banking were fairly new to India and the audience needed to be educated on how simple, safe and effective these payments were.

The bank had a customer base of more than 12 million users.

They needed to reach out to this massive audience through different channels as fast as possible.
They needed something that could easily be shared with their customers.
A way to quickly explain the product and its benefits in a short amount of time.
It should be interesting enough for busy customers to actually invest their attention.
An explainer video was the perfect solution to their problem because:

PayZapp’s target audience was young millennials who spent a large majority of their day on the internet. Using a digital asset like an explainer video could help HDFC reach them through various channels like social media, organic search, E-mail and WhatsApp.
This video could be used for multiple purposes like having it on the app description page on Playstore, on the HDFC E-mails, on the HDFC landing page or if they ever want to pitch the app to a investor personally.
Explainer videos make boring business concepts much more engaging both in terms of visuals and storytelling.
They can show how the app actually works so customers are aware of the look and feel of the app before downloading.
 

Our Process

Our account executive is the first point of contact between us and the clients.

Like we always do with our new clients, we sent out a questionnaire to HDFC when they first approached us.

Scripting

The creative director had a brainstorming session with our scriptwriters on the angle of the story.

Scripting is tricky and one of the most important aspects of the video. It is about finding the right balance between a creative story and a message that drives customers to take action.

The primary target customers for PayZapp were young tech-savvy individuals so we knew that the story had to appeal to this base.

Storyboarding

Now that we decided how we wanted to present the message, we moved onto creating the storyboard for our video. A storyboard is a rough sketch of each frame of the video along with its description and voice over.

Illustrations And Style Frames

After the storyboard is created we share it with our clients for approval. After approval, it is forwarded to the illustrators to create the characters and backdrops for the video. The new illustrations make up the style frame for the video which includes the final color schemes of the video as well.

It was important that we chose the same color scheme of the HDFC for the explainer video. By using these colors we maintained brand consistency so that the audience would associate the video to the brand better.

Animation

We then forwarded the style frames to the animators who made the images come to life, frame by frame.

Animated explainer videos are effective because they engage the mind in a very visual manner. By engaging the audio and visual senses we are able to capture the attention of the viewers so that our message can be communicated to an attentive audience.

We make sure that our animations are not dry and static- As you can see that even the transitions for the PayZapp video are visually appealing and there is a great flow.

Sound effects are also added to sync with the actions in the video (Eg: Sound of typing on phone, the sound of notifications received, etc.).

The Challenge

Nomidman had revolutionary ideas but no way to show them to the world. They approached us with ideas to make longer videos and we convinced them that shorter ones worked better. Some of their ideas had to become reality through the video and that is where we came in.

Their existing website was a very basic design that had a major brand disconnect with their brand identity. It also stuck out when compared to the videos that we were going to create. We had to tie the videos to the website making sure that they were streamlined and managed to stand out from the many websites online.

The Solution

We created an overview video that introduced the viewers to Nomidman in a way that was relatable and understandable, essentially simplifying a complicated concept, to its bare bones. This video helped viewers understand the essence of Nomidman and what they were trying to accomplish. The second video was the explainer video and highlighted all their features which are important in their claim as the world’s first blockchain powered decentralized trading platform. This video went into detail about all the things that Nomidman had that made it so unique in the marketplace. Both the videos consisted of original characters and styles created for Nomidman along with a crisp and clear voiceover that explained what Nomidman did. This way, viewers would not make mistakes or misinterpret things about Nomidman. What they say was what they got.

We then focused on their website. Our work on the website was less of a revamp and more of a ground-up effort. To streamline all their peripherals that we had delivered, we ensured that the characters and the icons from the video were used to bring colour to their website and connect the videos to the website. And for those who had watched the videos, icons and design styles from the videos were used in the website, forming a connection. Along with a simple and uncluttered design, the website stood out and ensured that any visitor would be able to access it and go through all of the information easily.

Websites these days have to be quirky, informative, easy-to-use, optimized for easy loading and so much more. Nomidman’s new website was indeed all that and more. This combined package of the overview video, explainer video and website completely shifted fortunes for Nomidman and established their online presence as a serious company with lofty but realistic goals that aimed to disrupt the global marketplace.

Website

The website that we created was less of a revamp and more of a ground-up effort. To streamline all their peripherals we ensured that the characters and the icons from the video were used to bring colour to their website and connect the videos to the website.

Mobile Design

The objective of Nomidman was to create the world’s number one decentralized peer to peer trading platform. For this, we created a responsive mobile website that would enable buyers and sellers to access the platform anytime, anywhere.

Nomidman Overview Video

The overview video would be the video that introduced Nomidman to viewers and potential users. This video would explain how the need for Nomidman arose and why it is the single best global decentralized trading platform in the world.

Nomidman Explainer Video

The explainer video expanded on the overview video. As a slightly longer video, this was able to explain and go into detail to show the viewers the many features that Nomidman has which make it the best trading platform in the marketplace.

Character Design

Most animated videos that have characters are often driven by them. In this case, the Nomidman platform was the focal point but we needed characters as part of the story. We created a new style that was simple yet quirky, something that wouldn’t stand out but seamlessly integrate itself into the video used in conjunction with the icons and movements.
