The project team did a round of internal discovery, making sure to document the current process as a base for changing flows, including moderated testing with existing users. They then sketched out flow diagrams of alternative orders/different ways to acquire the same information. That evolved into low-fidelity wireframes, which were then used to conduct moderated and unmoderated testing and uncover any new problems they introduced.
