Please introduce your company.

The "Wezom Mobile" company is the independent mobile department of big "Wezom studio". First of all Wezom mobile focused on native mobile application development. Founded in august 2013. We are making on turnkey apps: server part ("Wezom CMS 4.03" own development, built on PHP), design, mock-up, and of course the mobile apps coding. We are making applications for Android and iOS platforms (Objective-С, Swift, and Java)

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app?

The critical parameters are the technical brief, or SOW (statement of work).
Mainly:
- Size and complexity of the task
- Clarity of technical brief (sometimes a lot of time goes to clarify all the details of the project)

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile application?

As we are using the moc server (Google cloud based) for checking app before backend is ready, so their development goes at the same time. Usually, backend takes 10-15% more time than the application coding. However, there can be exceptions. Using the moc server give us an opportunity to check the API, test data etc. and speed up development time.

What is your company’s business model?

Wezom Mobile is outsourcing company. However, we are thinking about own projects in the next future.

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?

The main office is based in not big (not the small but still not big :) City of Ukraine. Therefore, our rates are lower than in Capital for example or the EU or US. And the quality is still high. Some clients pick us for it.

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

We are strong native app Development Company. At this time, we have just a few cross-platform developers since this year. The most important in choosing the right platform is the technical brief, mockup, and functionality.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

The key factors is developers quantity needed for dealing with the particular task, them working time multiplied by developer’s personal rate.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?

We have few, recent years formed, payment models: shorter than month projects we bill by fixed price. Normally it is 50/50%, half before starting and half at the end. For longer projects, we are using Scrum and billing by sprints. It gives clients the possibility to see and control the whole process of development and make some adjustments between the sprints. Which is also comfortable for developers.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement?

Our minimum budget requirement is 1200$. We can accept the project with full design, mockup, and in-app engineering ready. So basically it includes one developer and the QA specialist.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2015?

The lowest cost app was $1250 (Alarm Security Button).
And max price range was $91k (the Trucking Industry)

Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?

Usually, our clients are the business owners. And we don't have to recommend them how to generate revenue from mobile applications. Mostly, it is direct incomes via integrated payment systems thru the apps for different services and products. However, sometimes it is direct monetization by selling apps thru stores. We had also a social project and enterprise apps.
