Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company.
I’m founder of the company and my primary role in the business is to lead the process ensuring growth and high effectiveness for the deliverables. The company was started in 2013. We are into mobile development and designing along with web designing and development. We are a team of experienced developers, Technical experts and passionate people who love to deliver a high-quality product. In the web vertical, we do design and also make them functional.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
I was always passionate about “building something innovative and meaningful”, and it inspired me to provide the solutions through technology. With the same passion and inspiration, on every single day, we give our best to meet our client’s expectations to deliver the highest-quality product.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We are having the expertise of different segments like design, development, solution architect, system administrator, a quality analyst working under the same roof with the team size of more than 50 engineers which brought us on top from other companies.
How is your business model beneficial from a value added perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We have more than 95% recommendation rate and we have more than 65% client retention ratio. It is our strategy that we work in a way to retain the client, if someone has a lot of projects in hand then we try to retain the customers.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We have successfully implemented apps in Health Care, Restaurant, e-learning, On-demand (Taxi, Online food ordering), Fitness, Real estate and so on. We are also proficient in Drupal development. Around 40% of our customers are repetitive and 60% of our clients are a long-term partnership.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
In general, there is no any specific formula that would allow measuring development timeline. App development time frame is totally depending on functions and number of screens. We will prepare Functional Specification Document & Project Plan under this phase to make sure that we all are on the same page of requirements & we complete the project in a timely fashion.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
Around 15-20% of the time goes in designing, around 30% is involved in the backend processes, next 40-50% is dedicated to the front end activities and remaining time goes in QA and documentation.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
The critical ones are the budget and the target audience. If someone wants to develop an application for all platforms (Android, iOS, Blackberry, and Windows) but has a lesser budget so we propose him to go with hybrid app development so that he can launch the application on all platforms and save on some money. The audience is equally important when selecting the perfect platform to launch an app. In a market like India, you will find users using more of Android phones and not the iOS. So depending on the geography, this decision should be taken as it plays a major role in determining the success of a mobile application.
Which platform do you suggest your clients begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Well, it is totally depending on requirement and client’s preference such as location, users, and personal interest. Based on our many years of experience, iOS is the default choice for many clients; however, many clients prefer Android as a right platform to start. Again, it depends on requirement and client’s choice.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Well, platform selections between Android or iOS totally depend on the requirement and business model. It differs based on project scope. 70% clients prefer to build on both platforms. We suggest building a native application for many reasons such as a faster, responsive to users and advanced GUI experience. On the other hand, the hybrid platform costs competitive as compared to the native platform. We have in-house native and hybrid app developers. We mainly suggest native app development.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
While analyzing the project scope, we consider parameters such as a number of features, platform, required skilled resources and required timeline.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We have three different models. The first model is the most popular one which is the hourly model, where the client assigns the task to us and we estimate the hours and bill him as per the hours. Second is the fixed price where we set the scope of work, estimate the time and then we quote the final price, which is generally divided into multiple milestones. The third one is the hire base model. In this model, if the client wants to hire a team or some particular person from the company, we set up an interview with the client and if things work well, we set a price for a month and then that particular developer will be working for the client requirements only.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We are a new company so we do not have any such criteria but we do plan to have such a criterion in the near future.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2017?
In the year 2017, we delivered many web & mobile Application from $500 to US$500 to $50,000.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
It depends on product and platform. We have integrated-app purchases, ad banner, contextual ads, and subscriptions.
