Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
Objectives and parameters that are critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app are Expertise and experience, time required in completion of the project, technology & learning associated with it, complexity involved and size of the project.
Mobile app development includes several stages including - rigorous analysis, wireframing, designing, coding, testing, QA and launching an app on their respective App Stores. Every phase of mobile app development requires different amount of time and effort.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front-end and back- end of a mobile app?
Well, it solely depends on the type of project we are working on. There are various projects that include much higher complexity, while there are projects that majorly depend on the intricate processing and flawless coding.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
There are many factors that need to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile app including Product, client’s business model, revenue model, country focus and, target audience etc. And, most importantly, you need to put your key audiences requirements first.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Nowadays, clients know – what to look for and what not. They exactly know what they want. But at the same time, we have to work with both types of clients – one who has researched well before starting to get develop the app. And, one who just comes to us with an idea and want to get their app built. So, if the client already knows their user-base, they know which platform to choose. And, if not then we suggest them as
per the type of app they are asking us to get developed.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Again, it depends on the type of app we are building, audiences that we are targeting and demographics we have selected.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
A thorough analysis helps us in deciding the right cost of the project. We discuss, enquire and suggest our clients and freeze the final requirements. Then we move further with the time and resources required in the development of an app. We know every client is different. So, every time we share a proposal with them, based on the app’s features, functionality and their actual requirements.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Most of the times we follow Pay per milestone model. But, again if client and project requires, we follow Time & Material model as well.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we usually choose projects that are above 10,000 US$. However, if we find a project that is unique, interesting, adds value to our business and gives us the opportunity to work on the latest and trending technologies and platforms, we go for those projects, as well.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2016?
It has varied from $10k - $200k.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
Basically, there isn't any specific business model. They could be a single entity or a combination that can provide an enhanced solutions and provide a better yield. And,that’s why we do a lot of research, before moving to any model, which in turn, results into coming up with a perfectly tailored solutions to our client’s business requirements.
