Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Prerna Trimurty Infotech Pvt. Ltd (Formerly known as PTI WebTech). PTI WebTech is top-level mobile and web development Company situated in Northern part of India in the heart of pink city Jaipur, Rajasthan. The team at PTI WebTech is combined with constituents required for a successful technology development company. We have expert team of highly talented and energetic developers, architects and project managers, all recruited through an exceptionally rigorous process. PTI WebTech is an Indian offshore software development company who provide services (Web Design, eCommerce development, and Mobile app development) to clients in 10+ countries ( United Kingdom, United State, Germany, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Malta, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, South Africa etc ). Since 2009, we have delivered more than 1000+ small to enterprises projects.
As to the designation of CEO of the company, my key role is to manage & maintain the progression of the company, including development, designing, marketing, communications, and logistics. Apart from these I am involved in implementing & making important decisions in favour of betterment of the company.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Having an IT background and education I decided to combine both my skills and idea of a software business and the result is in front of your eyes in the form of PTI WebTech. I did complete analysis of the market and the future scope of being in a software company. Our main goal was clear as we equipped ourselves to serve the developmental need of IT change and digitalization, particularly around various technologies. We are driven towards understanding our objective in serving our clients and getting IT productivity in their existing business. What's more, that helped us in making PTI WebTech a more productive and a developing IT firm from the first year of our adventure. Currently, we have numerous clients from all over the world. We have collaborated with many clients, keeping our current customers in place with us, and we have collaborated with many driving IT organizations over the world.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Currently, we have a team of 40+ web and mobility professionals in-house which includes frontend & backend Developers, Designers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and much more. We never outsource any work due to the presence of talented resources. There is a separate team consisting Business Analyst, Designers, Developers, Testers and Project Manager for specific projects so that clients will not face any hurdle in terms of communication and project updates. Work is initiated by Business Analyst with requirement gathering and deployed by project managers with a successful outcome.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Fulfilling the client's demand is not our only objective. Apart from this, we focus on fulfilling the requirements with a successful deployment and make it available for their business & customers. If required, we also give our clients useful suggestion as per current market scenario and their competence so that they can gain more profits. Coming to our working procedure, we follow agile methodology which divides the project into many phases which gives both of the party involved confidence about the ongoing work and then further payment is done as per client's satisfaction. Apart from this, we also use project management tools and develop a repository so associated team members can work in a sequential manner and hence deliver quality results. Our company’s business model is designed in such a way so as to help small businesses to excel in their respective fields. We basically help businesses to successfully setup & run their business online. In case they run into any problem, we are always present to provide assistance & guidance.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We provide mobile app and web solutions to our clients associated with various categories. We have done work for numerous clients for categories like real estate, education, travel industry, social networking, e-commerce, beauty industry like salons, hospitality industry, trucking and logistics industry, food industry like restaurants & hotels, B2B delivery and much more. We believe every client to be our strategic partner & handle their projects with utmost care. For years, we’ve been in the market and have established strong relations with dozens of partners worldwide. Approximately 60% of our clients are repetitive who have come back to us to work on another project. They are still in touch with us and help us to build a strong & long business relationship.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
For estimating the time frame of a project the first step is to gather and understand the business goal of the application with targeted users and functionalities of the application. The initial step is sharing the workflow and quotation of the project. So, the main objective is to deliver a well-equipped application embedded with all the features as per the requirement and the parameters completely depends upon the work scope of the project. Experience is another factor for determining the time as it will take less time. Every phase of mobile app development requires a different amount of time and effort.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
It totally depends on the client's requirement. Some of the applications require more work in front-end and some of them in the backend. Mostly as per my experience, both front-end & back-end development will work parallelly so that there is no instance of scarcity of time while delivering the project. Also, different developers are allotted for both sections.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
Timeline and requirements are basic elements to be considered before you consider settling on a single platform for application improvement or make a selection for cross-platform development. There are other factors like target audience, budget, business model and much more which affect the same. If targeted audience are iOS users then go with iOS & if they are Android users then proceed with Android. As per my opinion, if the client is willing to pay good amount then we prefer both developments, i.e. iOS and Android and rest depend on the target audience selection.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Today most clients are aware of the facts about Android or iOS so they are the better judge of what will be beneficial to them at the initial stage in shaping their ideas. In case if they don't have any ideas then we can suggest them our best recommendation so that they can get more and more benefit from their business. So, it completely depends on the client's requirement about our suggestion over platform suggestion.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
My recommendation will go to the Native platform for application development and the rest will depend on client's demand. Main reason for selecting Native Application is that they are user friendly, easy to download from the app store and displaying best results with a single tap. Coming to the Hybrid application, it will take less time during development phase and also low on budget than Native but users won't able to expand these applications in the future. So, we suggest a native platform for those apps that can’t compromise on security and performance and also need to have an offline mode and utilizes OS specific function.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
There are numerous factors which decide the costing of the application development. These factors are application's functionality with work flow, platform selection, supported devices, hardware devices involved while testing of the application, resource allocation for the development, support & services and much more. Another most important factor is the project's complexity which affects the costing. After deployment of the project the maintenance work is conducted on hourly basis.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We take payment in two ways, i.e. Hourly billing and Fixed price. This depends on the project specification shared by the client. Hourly payment is suitable for tasks like maintenance work, ongoing tasks, designing or development modifications and much more. The positive point of this is that client can keep tracking the ongoing work and be assured from our end about the amount of hours we have spent on their tasks. Fixed price is suitable for projects which are to be developed from scratch and also tasks which require more time for completion. For avoiding any dispute & confusion, the fixed price is divided into various milestones so that assurance can be established on both ends. However, we will mostly go with client’s preference for payment.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Every client is important to us, it doesn't matter if they allot small maintenance tasks or large application work from scratch. Sometime small budget clients last for a longer period of time. After getting good work from us the client also share our reference to other clients which is beneficial for our business. So, we don't mind either doing a 1000 USD project or 10,000 USD projects. You have heard the line that ―Work is Worship‖ and I am following the same.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2016?
Our budget has varied from 1000 USD-25,000 USD.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
There are many criteria and business models from where clients can generate revenue from the app and unfold the existing business in a much better manner. First, promotion is done by client on various social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn and much more. Another suggestion is advertising which is displayed in many places in mobile applications. These ads are in the form of small size box displayed either on top, bottom, right or left of the application. Sometime it will display while redirecting from one screen to another screen. Advertising are priced differently for click-through, impressions, location of users, and format of ads, with videos tending to be worth more than static ads. Some traditional methods are also followed like downloading the app, in-app purchases, subscription based and much more.
