“Their competencies will be that they are flexible and the pricing is very competitive. They really managed to pull this off for very decent prices and they did it efficiently enough.”– CEO, LUX Publica.
Project Summary

The client is a traditional book publishing company primarily in Sweden but they have a structure in place where they think on how to design apps based on the content of some of their books, particularly the lifestyle and exercise books. Wezom Mobile was involved in developing an application for them based on a book of Yin Yoga for the Android and iOS platforms in English and Swedish languages. Wezom Mobile took a little more time than what was committed but that was because of some additional requirements from the client; they were flexible with the price and completed the project within the specified budget.

The client is quite happy with Wezom Mobile because of their competitive pricing and flexibility and they highly recommend them to their colleagues.

Objective & Scope

1. What is the objective of the project you did with Wezom Mobile?

We published a book a few years ago which was sold very well and it was based on Yin Yoga, we used the same materials and added new media and published it as an app, first in Swedish and now also in English. The objective of the app is to get people to do yoga home exercises.

2. What is the scope of the project? What all did Wezom Mobile do for you?

They did the technical development and other compiling. We supplied them with the assets for the app and the design, so they didn’t do any of the designs; they did the technical development only. It is meant for iOS and android platforms in Swedish and English languages so in total there were four projects.

3. What was the estimated timeframe committed for the completion of the project?

I think the time was six to eight weeks for the UK version and two weeks for the Swedish update. They started in the shift of November-December 2015.

4. How much time did it actually take for completing the task?

The UK version of the app ended up taking about twelve weeks and the Swedish version about four and a half, but that was not primarily because of their work, it was primarily because we are very tricky. The first project ended in the end of March 2016 and the second project ended in the first week of June 2016. The development work was not on a continuous basis. We were stuck with some corrections in between the development so I gave the actual figures of time when they worked for us.

5. Please provide an approximate figure (in $) for the work done?

I would like to keep it anonymous.

6. Did they exceed the committed price point and why?

Yes, but that was due to the additional changes that we had to make, it was not really clear at the time of initial designing and we had an agreement on that, but in total it does not really matter as in the end I got what I wanted. They charged me about twenty to twenty-five percent above the initial quote but it doesn’t matter as I said as there were a lot of graphic/UI changes.

7. How did you come to know about Wezom Mobile?

I searched them out. I found twenty-five Ukrainian, Belarusian and Polish companies and they were by far the most economic of those companies which think professional. They had half the cost of the second best company on the quote list.

8. Why did you choose to partner with them?

There were three companies out of twenty-five which we settled on and then we sent the detailed information, detailed scope, and wireframe and we asked for very specific quotes. Out of those three, the two at the top, the ones with probably the best of developers, were about the same price and Wezom were about half that price. I could feel that we had some language barriers and cultural barriers but we thought of trying them anyway. Even if it would have taken a few months longer, if they would do it for this price, it’s a good thing. So, we went with them. Additionally, they have done a lot of apps and development and the CEO is very efficient.

9. Did Wezom Mobile evaluate your project scope and requirements correctly?

Yeah, they did, well enough. There was some mix-up but in general yes, they understood.

10. Did the company deliver as per your expectations?

Yes, sure. They took a bit longer and there was a lot of hassle with details that took too long to get finished but that can happen with best of companies.

11. Are you satisfied with the sales and customer support service?

Well, their customer support is fine; they’re available online whenever I need them. Sales were efficient.

12. Is there anything that makes them stand out compared to other companies (core Strengths)?

Overall, their pricing is very competitive and that’s not a small thing today. They really managed to pull this off for very decent prices and they did it efficiently enough. Even though I would say that they were lacking in speed and momentum needed at the end of every project but apart from that they did a good job. Their competencies will be that they are flexible and the pricing is very competitive.

13. According to you, is there any area that you think they can improve upon?

There are a couple of things I think they should improve upon. First thing is, in my opinion, apps are primarily a question of design. We have a visual of how the things should look and how they should see you. Another thing is I did not get the chance to see if they really understood how important some of the details are. So, I would say that finalizing the project, having enough stamina and doing a good enough job with reporting time. When I ask them to change something, I need to know how much extra time that will take us. I’m fine with the cost, but they will have to tell me and not just drag it up because the developer does not have the time to do it now because he feels that he’s already finished with the job.

14. Did they offer proactive consultative approach? (Technical advice, design changes etc.)

Not really; we had already thought it through quite fully and would it have been another kind of project I’m sure they would have. It was not even necessary for the current projects.
