The client is a professor from the University of California. The client wanted some applications that he can use in his research and Wow Labz is working with him on continuous basis developing multiple apps on iOS and Android platforms. Some of the key apps that they have developed for the client are focused to help assess human interaction and memory. Wow Labz has been quite punctual with the deadlines of the project and managed the cost terms flexibly.
The client is highly satisfied with Wow Labz and enjoyed working with them as they took a personal interest in all the projects and are always excited to work on projects that help a greater good. The client has already recommended them several times to their peers and continues to do so.
Designation – Assistant Professor
Nature of Business – Education
Objective & Scope
1. What was the objective of the project you did with Wow Labz?
I basically do research involving memory and human attention. I asked Wow Labz to develop a couple of different applications that I could use in my research to assess memory and attention. The apps would have helped me in being able to distribute a mobile assessment of these attention-related abilities so that anybody could do these tests anywhere in the world without having to come in my laboratory and do the that personally.
2. What is the scope of the project? What all did Wow Labz do for you?
They did everything starting from a survey. They came up with arts and created the apps. They implemented the algorithms I specified related to the task. They helped create APIs pushing to our server and encrypted flash that was appropriate for human research. Some of the apps were for iOS and some of them for android.
3. What was the estimated timeframe committed for the completion of the project?
I think it was September 2013 when we started off with the project; it’s been a long time.
4. How much time did it actually take for completing the task?
We are working with them on a continuous basis. We have a couple of other projects still on-going because we have enjoyed their relationship and when we have more development to do, so we keep going back to them. I would rate them as four and a half out of five on timings. They are very good for most of the times, there are some issues sometimes which cause delays but I’m aware of those. It’s hard to say when we worked with them lastly as we keep on updating everything continuously.
5. Please provide an approximate figure (in $) for the work done?
That depends on the project, there are some apps that were something around five to seven thousand and there are other apps that we have spent close to thirty thousand dollars.
6. Did they exceed the committed price point and why?
No, they give us a very reasonable proposal for a given task.
7. How did you come to know about Wow Labz?
They were referred to us through someone we were working with; he suggested us to look into Wow Labz and that’s how we connected and found them to be pretty amazing.
8. Why did you choose to partner with them?
Simply because it came through a reference, and also after talking with them we decided to give it a shot. Their prices were more reasonable than local developers as we didn’t have a lot of money for our first project so we gave it a try.
9. Did Wow Labz evaluate your project scope and requirements correctly?
Yes, they have been very good in understanding all the things. We have been happy with their communication and they resolved all the issues that come up.
10. Did the company deliver as per your expectations?
Yes, absolutely, they exceeded our expectations.
11. Are you satisfied with the sales and customer support service?
I haven’t dealt with their sales and the customer support; I have only connected with their engineers who helped me with the app development and it’s been great and fantastic.
12. Is there anything that makes them stand out compared to other companies (core Strengths)?
I like their enthusiasm and they seem to be very excited about the work that I’m involved with. For everything else, they seem really excited about actually working on projects that help a greater good. You can tell that from the questions they ask, they are actually very intelligent. This made our research projects much better. So, it’s been a lot of fun working with them from that perspective.
13. According to you, is there any area that you think they can improve upon?
No, I really enjoy working with them and I frequently give their recommendations to my research colleagues here. They are always keen to working with them as well.
14. Did they offer any proactive consultative approach? (Technical advice, design changes etc.)
Yes, absolutely. I’m not a developer, I rely on them to give me advice on what makes the most sense from a budget wise perspective, from a functional perspective and things like that. I have been very pleased with their suggestions.
15. On a scale of 1 – 5, how would you rate Wow Labz on the following parameters: (Where 5 – extremely satisfied and 1 – not at all satisfied)
A. Quality of work.
B. Reliability (demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness in communication, cost-effectiveness, meeting deadlines etc.)
C. Ability for Development
D. Ability for Design
E. Project Schedule
F. Project Consulting (Upfront suggestions)
