“The comfort level is what matters the most when you’re outsourcing a project and that was really good at Nectarbits. They make you feel as a part of their own team. They will go that extra mile also, if required.” – Founder, YoloPerks.
The client is a mobile application that allows users to win valuable discounts and various other exciting offers at restaurants. Through various restaurants that have tied up with the app as a business participant, users can redeem discount coupons and other prizes.
The client is satisfied with Nectarbits because of their technical knowledge and their proactive nature in providing technical suggestions during the project and appreciates their efforts to develop the Android & iOS mobile applications.
Designation – Founder
Nature of Business – Mobile Application
Objective & Scope
1. What was the objective of the project you did with Nectarbits?
The objective of the project was to develop Android & iOS mobile applications that could enhance the restaurant experience for a user. The application allows users to win valuable discounts and various other exciting offers at restaurants. We also wanted to develop a website for the same. I just wanted to develop a prototype and test it first in the market and plan the further course of action depending on the market response.
2. What is the scope of the project? What all did Nectarbits do for you?
I provided them with the design concepts and the algorithms for the website. They developed and implemented the designs and algorithms for the Android & iOS mobile applications. So, basically, they managed the complete back end part including the development and coding of the applications with the design concepts provided by us.
3. What was the estimated timeframe committed for the completion of the project?
We started working with them on this project in the month of January 2015 as there were a few delays from our end as this was a government incubated project and the estimated time frame to finish the project was approximately 5-6 months.
4. How much time did it actually take for completing the task?
The project completed by June 2015 as there were few delays from both the sides. There were changes in requirements from our side also and they also delayed the delivery of the project by some time.
5. Please provide an approximate figure (in $) for the work done?
Approximately, it was around one thousand dollars.
6. Did they exceed the committed price point and why?
Not really, I had asked for certain changes but they were costing more than what I had expected. So, to them, I paid only what was decided initially.
7. How did you come to know about Nectarbits?
I came to know about them through the government incubator itself. They were already working on a project with Nectarbits.
8. Why did you choose to partner with them?
A very good working relationship was already built between the government incubator and Nectarbits. When you are outsourcing something, you really need to trust them. There were a couple of other service providers who were charging a bit higher also and a bit lower also. Eventually, we didn’t want the hassles so we partnered with Nectarbits.
9. Did Nectarbits evaluate your project scope and requirements correctly?
Yes, they did evaluate our requirements correctly.
10. Did the company deliver as per your expectations?
I’m not a tech guy so my expectations were a bit low. Now that I have my own tech team, they do find certain parts of the code that need some corrections. However, I understand they were new to the market back then, so changes are bound to happen.
11. Are you satisfied with the sales and customer support service?
I was pretty much satisfied by their sales services. However, I didn’t get a chance to utilize their customer support services much. By the time the project was about to end, I started building my own tech team. So we developed the later parts of the project in house. I feel they could have worked on their testing and support part. However, I also didn’t bother to invest much time into looking after the testing and support areas as I was aware this might cross our decided budget.
12. Is there anything that makes them stand out compared to other companies (core Strengths)?
The comfort level is what matters the most when you’re outsourcing a project and that was really good at Nectarbits. They make you feel as a part of their own team. They will go that extra mile also, if required.
13. According to you, is there any area that you think they can improve upon?
I think testing and the quality of code can be improved a bit.
14. Did they offer any proactive consultative approach? (Technical advice, design changes etc.)
Yes, they were proactive enough in giving us technical advices whenever required.
15. On a scale of 1 - 5, how would you rate Nectarbits on the following parameters: (Where 5 - extremely satisfied and 1 - not at all satisfied)
A. Quality of work.
B. Reliability (demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness in communication, cost-effectiveness, meeting deadlines etc.)
C. Ability for Development
D. Ability for Design
E. Project Schedule
F. Project Consulting (Upfront suggestions)
G. Overall Score
H. How likely are you to recommend Nectarbits to a colleague, out of five again.
