Review Summary

Late last year, we GreenPal made the switch to Hubstaff for all of our employee monitoring. At first, I was skeptical because of how cheap it was because we were saving over 50% over our previous provider, but I can honestly say we’ve been nothing but happy with it. Screen tracking software and employee monitoring can be super buggy at times, and I’ve never had one issue with Hubstaff. The only drawback I might say is that their mobile app has got some opportunity for improvement, but hopefully, they will be able to dedicate some resources to that soon.

Review Summary

At DevSkiller, we use Hubstaff One of the best tools for tracking remote employee productivity during work hours is Hubstaff. It is a simple, easy-to-use software that runs in the background and times exactly how much time people spend working. While the timer is on, the program also takes screenshots and provides a visual overview of the main activities online. Although it also serves as a powerful employee monitoring tool, we prefer to turn down the settings and minimize invading the privacy of our workers.

Hubstaff measures the keyboard and mouse activity and calculates productivity based on these inputs. For certain types of tasks, it serves as a good barometer of an employee's general output. However, it should never serve as the ultimate measure of an employee's work ethic, but simply as a reference.

The great thing about Hubstaff is it allows our workers to clock in and out at any time, allowing them to work when they are the most productive. We trust our employees to stick to their 40-hour per week schedule, but with the freedom of manually adjusting their time entries according to their personal needs working from home. Overall, if used lightly, Hubstaff is the perfect tool for handling employee scheduling for any remote workforce.

Hubstaff pros

-Intuitive design and easy to use

-Allows employees to clock and manually adjust their time

-Runs in the background and doesn’t interfere with your work

Hubstaff cons

-Doesn't show the full picture, as employee tasks can vary

-Can feel invasive to employees

Offers a variety of features

Review Summary

I’m Aleksandra, co-founder of CapitalCounselor and I’ve had to move my entire business to remote work due to Covid-19 outbreak. Here is a suggestion for a remote work software that helped us a lot in the past few months.

One of the best tools for tracking people’s productivity during work hours is Hubstaff.. It is a simple, intuitive software that runs in the background and times exactly how many hours people spend working. While the timer is on, the program also takes screenshots every 2-3 minutes and provides a visual overview of the main activities online. Finally, Hubstaff measures the keyboard and mouse activity and calculates the productivity rate based on these inputs..

If you’re the administrator, you can easily access each person’s account and see their overall performance.

 Hubstaff pros

  • Intuitive design and easy to use

  • Offers a variety of features

  • Runs in the background and doesn’t interfere with your work

Hubstaff cons

  • A bit pricey

  • May not give a realistic result - those who don’t work a lot on the computer will have low productivity results

  • Can create additional pressure

Focuses on productivity

Review Summary

I am Jeremy Harrison and run a blog called Hustle Life, which is a resource I created for people looking to find their perfect side hustle.. I started the blog because, over the past five years, I have experimented with many different businesses with various degrees of success, and I wanted to help others find the right second job for them.

I use Hubstaff for employee monitoring because it focuses on productivity. Some of the features that I like are online timesheets, time tracking, scheduling, and most important of all, reporting. It takes care of all my payroll needs, and it can be integrated into FreshBooks. If you're like me and value productivity, I recommend you use Hubstaff as it's the only one that focuses on it. This software has helped me a lot in terms of managing remote employees.

Review Summary

I am the CEO of Netbooknews which is an online review publication with 100% remote workers. Managing and keeping track of productivity is hard which is why I use different online software to help me in this endeavor.

For time tracking software, I use Hubstaff. Hubstaff is an online time-tracking and monitoring software. It captures a screenshot of your employee’s desktop at random times every ten minutes, to ensure that they don’t slack off during work. It also records mouse and keyboard activity and gives specific information on how active a certain employee is.

Pros:

-Takes a screenshot every ten minutes

-Allows for easy micromanagement

-Integrates with other management software

-Monitors activity by tracking keyboard presses and mouse movements

Cons:

-it glitches or lags out when you're handling multiple tasks

-it's a little pricey
