It fundamentally changes the way construction professionals communicate and collaborate. Instead of waiting to get to an office to submit change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other essential documents, RedTeam’s cloud-based mobile technology makes it possible to prepare, file, and instantly share critical documentation with members of both internal and external teams from anywhere.
  • RedTeam’s construction management technology also connects all project stakeholders wherever they are and ensures real-time access to day-to-day project details and reports as well as information on pandemic-related safety and government updates. The accurate data sharing of equipment weight requirements, limitations, and safe-use guidelines, along with other critical information, improves overall job site safety.
  • RedTeam also enables contractors to create detailed, accurate estimates that factor in the real costs associated with overhead, risk, and job costs.   • About Michael:
  • Before starting RedTeam, Michael spent 20 years working as a general contractor – the last thing he thought he would build is a software company, but his search for software led him to do just that inadvertently. As a GC and later CFO of one of Florida’s premier construction companies, Michael searched for an all-inclusive construction management platform for his company to optimize business and project management. After unsuccessfully finding one, Michael decided to build his own. Work efficiency and sales began to skyrocket after using the platform – so much that he decided to spin it off into a new product, RedTeam Software. Today, RedTeam has grown into a thriving, industry-leading construction management platform with Michael at the helm as CEO. RedTeam has seen a three-year compound annual growth rate of 160 percent.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
RedTeam was born from the need to solve real-world problems. There is currently a lack of sophisticated technology found on construction job sites that materially contribute to job delays, missed budgets, and increased job safety risk. A report released by FMI and PlanGrid revealed that construction professionals spend 35% of their time on non-optimal activities such as looking for project information and data, conflict resolution, and dealing with mistakes and rework. This non-optimal activity accounts for $177.5 billion in labor costs per year in the U.S. alone.

RedTeam Software was created to give contractors the advantage by addressing four key challenges that currently plague the construction industry: high fragmentation, poor communication, lack of data transparency, and a skilled labor shortage.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?
Being born out of the construction industry, we understand that value is the primary driver when exploring ways to optimize workflows. We look at value creation in three distinct categories, risk, time, and team. Lowering risks associated with all the information that flows during a construction project is a fundamental value proposition of RedTeam, making sure that people know what they need to know when they need to know it—also, thinking about the potential for disputes and the importance of having the information you need to assess the respective responsibilities as established during the project properly. Time is also a core element to what RedTeam offers, breaking down communication silos and making it easier for people to do their job every day. What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries, in general, are highly benefiting by using your software?
RedTeam caters to commercial general contractors in the construction industry. As stated above, the construction industry is one of the least digitized sectors in our society.  Too many essential processes involved in multi-million dollar construction projects are handled via pen and paper or on a loose excel sheet living on someone’s laptop desktop. RedTeam was built exclusively to help commercial contractors achieve operational excellence. They have benefited by using RedTeam’s real-time communication and collaboration, budget management, resource documentation, and ability to share data from any corner of the world. Using RedTeam’s platform, contractors have been able to speed up the construction project process.
What are the key features of your software that make it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
RedTeam is constantly enhancing its platform applications to cater to the changing needs of the construction industry. The platform fundamentally changes the way construction professionals communicate and collaborate. RedTeam also recently acquired the Fieldlens App. Fieldlens accelerates RedTeam's ability to fully leverage the power of smart personal devices on job sites to facilitate instant access to project information better, support more robust real-time communication, and fully transform how construction project teams work together on job sites. Fieldlens boosts productivity by helping contractors manage and markup design drawings and coordinate Jobsite collaboration with intuitive messaging, keeping teams focused on emerging critical issues. Users create "posts" directed to one or more colleagues on their project teams, which may include annotated drawings, pictures, observations, such as weather, and references to contract documents. Posts can alert team members of further contractual direction or responses.

The company recently released new application enhancements that include: 
TeamPlayer, an app that facilitates collaboration for subcontractors by improving communication for all team members involved to have instant access to critical documents and transactions – making it easier to reduce risk, improve accountability, increase compliance, streamline billing, and an overall improved relationship with contractors. TeamPlayer also addresses construction billing pain points. Improperly prepared or non-conforming applications for payment slow down cash flow and require costly administrative intervention to make corrections. Using TeamPlayer, Electronic Applications for Payment (eApps) streamline the subcontractor invoicing and payment process and are simple to create.

From our internal tracking of NPS score, we consistently rank in the excellent category. One key element to our success is having a well-trained team to ask the right question when an issue arises and stay focused on the desired outcome.

More often than not, we find that companies get the most benefit from understanding how RedTeam’s workflow can help them get to a defined objective more efficiently than what was done in the past. This may mean rethinking their approach, which requires a deep understanding of the construction industry from our service team. We invest in team training and making sure we answer questions as quickly as possible. Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what is the percentage of repeat customers that you have?
Yes, as a saas software, we are very focused on year over year retention. Fully implemented customer retention is around 85%, with a jump to 90%+ after the first year. We have found that the key to retention is to make sure we have alignment with our clients relative to the type of business they do, their objective, and engagement in the implementation of the software. We offer a fully supported live implementation for all our clients, making sure we help them find quick wins for the organization and help train their entire team on the platform. The training is typically provided through live web meetings, organized based on our clients’ key objectives.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
There are many avenues for clients to receive support from our team. We offer a live chat support team from 8 am to 8 pm EST and a series of recorded video content, and a complete library of wikis that can be accessed at any time within the platform. If a client wishes to have in-person support, they can set up a call-me with a typical turnaround time of 2-4 business hours. Over 90% of our support requests come through the live chat and are resolved either immediately or within one business day.
What has been the revenue for your product for 2020?
Over 20,000 projects were created in RedTeam in 2020, and over 350,000 team members contributed to these projects.

The best tool for making lives better than never. Very useful to seamlessly manage projects on-and-off the field. As I spend most of my time in the field, the software helps me to keep up with the back-office tasks. great information is available and easy to learn.
