Please provide your feedback on how Goodfirms has contributed to increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Goodfirms has meaningfully contributed to MTechZilla's visibility. The verified reviews, directory rankings, and category listings have helped potential clients from the US and Europe find and trust us faster.

Our first guest article recently got published and is already gaining good traction. Being able to import client reviews and get ranked in relevant directories has added real, organic credibility, which is exactly what we were looking for. GoodFirms itself is a very credible and trusted platform, which naturally increases trust for companies listed there.
Please introduce your company and describe your role within the organization.
MTechZilla is a custom software and app development company based in Pune, India. We work with startups and growing businesses primarily across the US, Europe, and the UAE, helping them turn product ideas into working, scalable software.

Our team of 30+ engineers, designers, QA specialists, and project managers handles everything end-to-end, from product scoping and UI/UX design to development, cloud deployment, and post-launch support.

We specialize in React, Next.js, Node.js, React Native, and AWS, and we've deliberately kept our tech stack focused so we can be genuinely excellent at what we do rather than average at everything.

As Founder and CEO, my role has evolved significantly since 2021. In the early days, I was writing code, talking to clients, handling support, and doing sales all at once. Today, I focus on product strategy, client relationships, architectural decisions, and ensuring the team has the clarity, tools, and direction they need to deliver exceptional work. I'm still deeply technical at heart, but my primary job now is to build an environment where great software gets built consistently.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
MTechZilla was founded in February 2021, not from impulse, but from a quiet realization I couldn't ignore.

I kept seeing the same pattern: founders had great ideas but no reliable engineering partner. Agencies over-promised and under-delivered, MVPs took months longer than they should, and in-house hiring was too costly for early-stage teams. I kept thinking, this shouldn't be this hard.

Around the same time, I was writing technical articles on freeCodeCamp. One founder discovered my work there and reached out. I took it seriously, treated it like my own product, and that approach led to referrals, which led to more projects. By the end of 2021, I had hired my first developers.

That belief, that if you treat every client's project like it's your own, people will trust you, is still the core of how MTechZilla operates today.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?
Our culture is built on four things: ownership, timely delivery, transparency, and quality.
In practice, this means clients get structured biweekly sprint cycles, regular progress updates, direct access to the team on Slack, and honest communication at every step.
Our team is proactive, focused, and available across key time zones to ensure smooth collaboration with clients globally.

We screen for these values in every hire, we reinforce them in sprint retrospectives, and our leaders model them daily.
When someone joins MTechZilla, they quickly understand what we stand for because it shows up in every interaction, every delivery, and every client relationship.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
A few milestones that stand out:
We went from a one-person freelance operation to a team of 30+ within just a few years, entirely bootstrapped with no external funding.

We have delivered 30+ live products and are being used by over 1 million users globally. Our clients have collectively raised $10M+ in funding, which is something I am genuinely proud of because it means we have helped build things worth investing in.

Some of our most significant project milestones include helping a US-based social services startup grow from a two-person team to a 40-person company with a platform now serving 700+ agencies and 15,000+ hotel partners; building the entire technology stack for a Swiss EV charging company now managing 5,000+ charging stations across Switzerland; and delivering one of Switzerland's most comprehensive energy tariff transparency platforms covering 600+ energy providers.

We have also been recognized as an AWS Partner and maintain strong ratings on Goodfirms and MobileAppDaily. We have been ranked among the top outsourcing companies for 2026 by multiple AI-driven research platforms.

Most importantly, we have maintained a 98% client retention rate, with many clients working with us on a long-term basis. For a service business, that is the milestone I am most proud of.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
We operate with a 100% in-house team. This is a deliberate choice. When you outsource to third parties, you lose control over quality, communication, and accountability. We can only maintain that trust if the people doing the work are fully aligned with our values and delivery standards.
We offer three engagement models depending on what works best for the client: Dedicated Team, Fixed Scope, and Hourly or Flexible. Clients can also integrate our team directly into their own workflows using their preferred tools such as Jira, Slack, Notion, or any other tools they use.
How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?
Our differentiation comes from two angles: how we operate and what we deliver.
From a non-technical perspective, we don't have multiple layers of hierarchy or bloated team sizes. When a client works with MTechZilla, their project is handled directly by our core team, and communication flows straight to me and our management. There are no account managers passing messages back and forth, no delays waiting for approvals from layers above. Clients talk to the people actually building their product. That directness builds trust and speeds everything up.
From a technical and business perspective, the numbers say it best. While onshore agencies charge $100 to $180 per hour and talent marketplaces cost around $17,600 per month, our dedicated teams start at $5,500 per month, giving clients 3x more runway from the same development budget. Most startups also end up hiring each role from a different source, separate frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA vendors, which means four invoices, four channels, and four onboardings.
We replace all of that with one integrated team, one invoice, one channel, and one onboarding. And while the typical agency engagement lasts 3 to 6 months, our average client engagement is 3.5 years, which is 7x longer than the industry average. That happens because teams that stay build compounding expertise, not throwaway code.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
We are a team of 30+ people, but we don't operate like a large agency with multiple layers of hierarchy. Every employee knows their exact role and responsibility. We run bi-weekly sprints and stay connected through Jira and Slack, so every department, development, design, QA, and project management is always aligned and knows exactly what is happening across every project.
What measures do you take to support the professional development and growth of your employees? Do you offer training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement?
We have dedicated Slack channels where team members regularly share useful articles, tutorials, and industry updates, so learning happens organically every day. We also schedule a focused team call every week where we discuss new tools, tech trends, and internal learnings. Beyond that, the real growth comes from the work itself.
Handling clients across multiple industries, from MVPs to full-scale platforms, is a learning experience in itself that no course can replicate.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
US Social Services Startup: They came as a 2-person startup. We built their emergency hotel booking platform for social service agencies from scratch, embedded as their core engineering team. Today: 700+ agencies, 500,000+ safe nights, 15,000+ hotel partners. They grew to a 40-person company. We grew with them.

Swiss EV Charging Startup: They needed their entire tech ecosystem built from zero. We delivered a working MVP in 8 weeks. Today: 5,000+ charging stations across Switzerland, 1M+ sessions per month, 10,000+ active users. They secured funding off the platform's early traction.

Two different industries, same approach: treat it like our own product and stay until it works.
What industries do you primarily cater to, and do you have a significant percentage of repeat clients? If so, what is the ratio of repeat clients?
We primarily serve Travel and Hospitality, Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy, Real Estate, Insurance, and Education. In terms of repeat clients, the numbers speak for themselves, and this is honestly one of the top reasons why we say we are the right software development agency choice for startups.
Our client retention rate is 98%, with many clients staying with us for 4 to 5 years. This was recently recognized by MobileAppDaily, which featured us in their Success Stories as "The 98% Retention Engineering Team Startups Trust."
What initiatives does your company undertake to foster innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends? Do you invest in research and development projects?
As a CEO in the software industry, staying current is a responsibility. Over the last two years, the pace of change, especially with AI, has been faster than ever, and I make sure both myself and my team stay updated.
I closely follow industry developments by reading, experimenting, and focusing on what is actually working in production, not just what is trending. When I discover something useful, I bring it to the team. We also have internal Slack channels where team members share new tools, articles, and experiments so we can evaluate whether they fit into our workflow.
We also run a weekly internal call to discuss what is new, what we are testing, and what our clients are asking for. This keeps the team aligned and curious. When AI coding assistants became genuinely useful, we evaluated them, tested them internally, and integrated them into our development process to improve delivery speed and efficiency.
I also learn a lot by observing what other agencies are doing well. It often highlights gaps we can improve or ideas worth adapting.
Please share some of the most sought-after services that clients approach your company for.
Our most sought-after services are custom web application development using React, Next.js, and Node.js, cross-platform mobile app development with React Native, AI integration and workflow automation, cloud application development on AWS, legacy system modernization, and UI/UX design. If I had to highlight one area of growing demand, it would be AI integration. The volume of requests here has increased significantly over the last two years, and it is only accelerating.
How do you build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, and what mechanisms do you have in place for gathering and acting upon client feedback?
These are the words clients most commonly use to describe working with us: clear communication, fast response times, and structured delivery. Every client gets direct Slack access to the developers working on their product, so communication is quick and transparent. We run biweekly sprint reviews where clients see what has been built, give feedback, and help prioritize the next tasks.
Everyone knows their responsibilities, tasks are clearly assigned, and releases follow a structured process. This helps us deliver quality work while staying budget conscious.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
Changes are part of the journey, and they never stop; that is just the reality of being in business. Sustainability is genuinely one of the hardest challenges, and I think the first step is accepting that. Some days are harder than others, and that is okay.
But what I always come back to is this: a disciplined, skilled team is the foundation. Everything else, new tools, new markets, new challenges, can be learned, adapted to, and trained for. So what I focus on most is hiring people with the right mindset, not just the right resume. People who take ownership, communicate honestly, and do not shut down when things get difficult.
When COVID hit, remote work was not an adjustment for us because we were already built that way. When AI started changing how software is built, we did not panic; we learned and adapted. When the market got more competitive, we focused inward, tightened our processes, and doubled down on quality. That has been our consistent strategy through every shift: stay disciplined, keep the team strong, and adapt without losing what makes us reliable.
What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
We are flexible depending on the project type and client preference. For well-defined projects with clear scope and requirements, we work on a Fixed Cost or pay-per-milestone basis, breaking delivery into meaningful phases that the client can review and approve before moving forward.
For ongoing product development and team augmentation, we use a Dedicated Team or Monthly Retainer model, where clients pay for a committed team working exclusively on their product, billed monthly.
For smaller, evolving, or exploratory scopes, we offer Hourly or Time and Material billing. One thing worth mentioning, clients can onboard developers from our team within 48 hours of sharing their requirements.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
Yes, we do have a minimum threshold. Our minimum project size is $10,000, and our hourly rate falls between $25 and $49 per hour, depending on the scope and team composition. Below that, honestly, we cannot do justice to the quality we hold ourselves to, and I would rather be upfront about that than overpromise and underdeliver.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2024?
In 2024, our engagements ranged from $100,000 to $450,000 per year. And honestly, most of that came from long-term partnerships, not one-off projects. Clients who stay, build, and grow with us. That is the kind of work we do best, and those numbers reflect that.
What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?
Our core technology capabilities include:

  • Frontend: React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, GraphQL, AI/LLM Integration
  • Mobile: React Native, Flutter
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Supabase
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFront), Docker,
  • Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform
  • Design: Figma
  • Project Management: Jira, Slack, Confluence, Notion
In terms of ongoing investments, we're actively expanding our AI and LLM integration capabilities. As client demand for AI-powered features, automation pipelines, and intelligent chatbots grows, we're ensuring our team stays ahead of that curve through hands-on experimentation and internal tooling. We're also investing in stronger internal delivery infrastructure, documentation standards, QA automation frameworks, and sprint tooling, to ensure that as we grow, our quality doesn't dilute.
Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?
Honestly, when I think about the next 10 years, I think about two things: impact and name.

Impact, because I want MTechZilla to be the company a founder remembers when they look back at how their product got built. The team that showed up, cared, delivered, and stayed. That matters to me more than being the biggest agency in the room.

And name, because I genuinely want MTechZilla to be a recognized name in the software industry, not just among clients, but in the broader tech community. A company people know, trust, and respect for the quality of work and the way we operate.

If I am being honest about the next 2 years specifically, we have been a fully remote team since day one, and that has worked really well for us. But one of my real goals in the near term is to open our first physical office. It feels like the right next step as we grow. Alongside that, I want to expand the team further, go deeper into AI-driven development, and keep expanding our service offerings as the market evolves.

And if I am being fully honest, I still feel like we are just getting started. Five years in, and the hunger is the same as day one. That feeling, I hope, never goes away.
