Back in 2015, when we launched The Animation Co., internet speeds were getting faster, streaming was taking off and demand for corporate video was exploding.

Sam Duncan, who founded the studio, had been working in TV and film across live broadcasts, reality TV and high-end ad shoots. On the side, he was making videos for businesses. But live-action production came with its challenges: rigid schedules, weather risks and limited flexibility to tweak things once they were shot.

Animation solved all of that. Sam had studied Screen and Media at Metro Screen in Sydney and saw an opportunity to make animation more accessible for businesses of all sizes. The Animation Co. was built as a boutique studio with lean overheads and efficient processes, designed to deliver high-quality animation without bloated timelines or price tags.
