Uarnet

State Enterprise Scientific and Telecommunication Center “Ukrainian Academic and Research Network” of IFKS NAS of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as “Uarnet” - abbreviation of English words “Ukrainian Academic and Research Network”) was created by Resolution of the NAS of Ukraine Presidium No. 405 of November 20, 1998 on the basis of the information laboratory of Technologies and Computer Networks of the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics of NAS of Ukraine. Uarnet was created to provide:

• favorable conditions for the development of national science;

• the needs of scientific and educational institutions in accessing the resources of the global information network;

• connection with European scientific information networks;

• development and widespread introduction of modern information technologies;

• introduction of new information technologies in the activity of scientific, educational and state institutions;

• research in the field of satellite communication and telecommunication data technologies;

• full cooperation of Ukrainian science centers with the European and world scientific community (participation in joint global scientific programs, including those funded by the European Commission and the governments of developed European countries);

• creation of scientific information space of Ukraine.
