As a strong believer in community outreach and service, Norman has held many roles within the Charlotte community. He is an Elder of Myers Park Presbyterian Church and he has served on the board of the Carolinas Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as its President. He has also held the position of Chairman of Mecklenburg Community Corrections, Inc., Chairman of the Board of Managers of the James J. Harris Family YMCA, Chairman of the Board of Managers for YMCA Camp Harrison at Herring Ridge, Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, President of the Hornets Nest, Kiwanis Club and as Charlotte Chapter Trustee of Speedway Children’s Charities.
