  • It is one of the best IDEs over there. Moreover, The Windows debugger is amazing.
  • The Microsoft C++ compiler implements completely the standard C++17, demonstrating its commitment to C++.
  • You can use Visual Studio to compile code for Linux using Clang.

What Users Like The Least

  • Visual Studio for Mac is based on other codebase (Xamarin Studio) but I think it is gradually converging to share code with mainstream Visual Studio.
  • If you do not know the standard properly, you could end using Microsoft-only extensions unintentionally.
  • No Linux version available. In addition, It is huge and has a large memory footprint.

Visual Studio is a widely used integrated development environment (IDEs) for app development.

This is by far one of the best software I’ve ever used. I would like it even more if we had more choices and more editing capabilities. Well, it is primarily designed for Windows and does not provide the same level of native. But I’ve had a fantastic experience using this software. their support has also been excellent, could not have asked for anything better than this.
