Leff Law Firm grew from humble beginnings to what it is today, through hard work and dedication to its clients.The firm’s founder, Arthur O. Leff, came to Iowa City from Onawa, Iowa, to pursue a legal education at the University of Iowa. He barely had any savings and no financial support. After graduating from law school in 1929, Arthur started practicing law in Iowa City. Despite the raging Great Depression, Arthur persevered and prospered. For many years starting in the late 1930s, Arthur was general counsel for the University of Iowa, and taught at the law school for decades as an adjunct professor.
